As title suggests, game over unless I want to buy DLC’s or rival hunting. (Sorry, not building a fortress by myself). Liked the game, but could do some improvement. I was on Xbox (thank you GamePass)
If there is a G 0 part 2, here’s some suggestions. It’s too late for first version I know:
Pause function… hey, we all gotta take a leak or a dump, going back to safe house after walking long distance isn’t in the cards.
Saved function… it’d be nice to save a game before going into a known hostile territory. That way don’t have to walk all the way back from safe house.
Put all locations on map, not just what you found or mission calls for. It was little frustrating looking for a bunker based on internet coordinates.
Stop the game when bringing menus up. I can’t count how many times I got slaughtered trying to assign items to D pad during combat.
Make damage more realistic. A assault rifle shouldn’t take out one of those “Rivals” where 6 rounds from a recoilles rifle doesn’t scratch it’s surface.
Damage realisem. I took out 3 Rivals while shooting thru windows in church, or 2 in a house. Their rockets should have flattened the place Or blowing up baddies hiding behind a red/green steel door in a bunker. Best was taking a rival out using gas canisters behind a brick wall.
Build a command post by yourself chasing down building materials? Never happen in milliion years…
People… where’d all the people go?
Otherwise, it was a fun, additctive game. I’d love to see a Gen 0 pt 2 come out, maybe invade Russia
The only points I agree with you are number 5 and 6. With 6 it would be cool if structures indeed could be damaged or even destroyed, but it would change the game in so many ways… And imagine, how much data would have to be saved… And one day there won’t be anything to hide behind as the fight is endless.
It’s a coop multiplayer game… Even if you play alone. That’s how the game works. There isn’t a pause mode in any other online-multiplayer titel of this kind I know so far. Imagine someone would press pause while playing CoD Warzone or World of Warcraft or something else and everything stops…
The answer is part of number 1… But the solution is: take adrenaline if you got shot or place a field radio before entering a known hostile territory.
Where’s the fun if don’t have to explore the open world? And you don’t have to use coordinates from the internet. You just have to take time and explore the worlds map… Every road, every single structure. That’s the spice in open-world-games.
I know what you mean. But that’s how it works. Again, it’s a coop multiplayer game with a mysterious and deadly world. Prepare yourself as good as possible before entering a fight, run away, hide and come back later or get slaughtered.
We’ll see, if this will get better with the next update (febuary) when the announced weapon wheel comes.
It’s a part of the game… A later added part of course and with no more sense for the lore. But it’s quite fun and has some more rewards than just building materials.
That’s the mystery that will hopefully be told in some more dlc.
Unfortunately that’s how GZ is coded. A pause function would be nice especially with the clunky inventory management but that’s not gonna happen. See it as a bit of realism (yeah I know realism and GZ is not a perfect match).
This also is a thing the devs have coded into the game. You can only spawn at safe houses. As I see you have two alternatives to get around that: 1. use a field radio. Put it on a hot key and place it when you have the feeling the situation might get out of hand. 2. bring adrenaline shots with you.
Isn’t there a mission called “The Command Bunker Network” which shows you the location of the bunkers on the map? Everything else is to be explored by the player. I like this style since it lets you walk all over Östertörn end enjoy some remote places. Sometimes you can stumble over places not marked on the map.
Well that’s basically the same with your first point. Although it is a bit annoying sometimes, you have to deal with it. I found myself in those situations and hammered the poor ESC-key to get out as fast as possible and find a place where I can access the menus without being bothered. Sounds a bit of realism to me.
Yeah, fighting machines made out of steel with assault rifles is a bit unrealistic. But I’m always lmao when I destroy a hunter only by shooting at one point of the frame. It’s more for the giggles then realistic. Usually I prefer to target weak spots. Energy cells, everything that sparks blue when hit (electronics), the weapons.
Although destructable environments would be preferable I have the feeling this is quite difficult. Imagine if even Dice cannot implement that correctly into BF42, how much man power you would need for such a thing. I imagine even if this would be implemented somehow there are two options for the long term: 1. once you close and reopen the game the building are back at there initial state or 2. the buildings remain at their destroyed state (however that is being saved) and bit by bit the hole of Östertörn is torn down providing no cover later in the game. I think the latter one would result in a lot of frustration.
I totally agree. Base building in an open world is like bringing tetris into a zombie game.
Ah, yes, after these 1 to 4 teenagers singlehanded took care of FNIX, a advanced AI with killer robots that wiped out the Swedish armed forces on this island, they proceeded to invade a world power nation. GZ2 - a very small group of teenagers wipe out all of Russias military and proceed to become one of the ruling forces of planet earth, let me guess, GZ3 they rule the galaxy?
I think he wanted to say that fnix expands and starts to invade russia… Maybe because some russian survivors of the special forces on Östertörn stealed the technology, brought it back to russia… And lost control…
I also came to the game on Xbox via Game pass and after also completing the main and all side missions, I can assure you buying the DLC was definitely worth it. In fact, if you search (for some reason it was hidden for me) you can find both DLCs in a bundle for $11.99. So, you don’t have to buy them at $7.99 a piece. Also, I worked on saving up points and got an Xbox $10 gift card through their rewards so it really only cost me a couple of bucks. TOTALLY worth it IMHO.
