What if there was a new type of large machine that the only way to take it down was to hack into it: So at first it would release a swarm of aerial machines you had to take out in order to get close enough. Once those were disabled, you shoot a new special hacking harpoon gun that sticks into said machine. It takes some time to transfer a digital “bug” in to it while it’s harpooned. That will cause the machine to walk all drunk-like. Once it’s incapacitated you can start to pick off (literally) it’s armor. Then you expose it’s “heart” and smash it with an experimental chainsaw (just imagining while I type) and move back to not get incinerated by it’s blast (a count down begins, just like in the movie Predator).
