**Description: The game has recently begun to crash very consistently while playing online with one other player. The crash happens specifically when looting items from enemies and/ or boxes. It becomes more consistent in areas where many NPCs are engaged in combat. Mostly experienced in the northern part of the farmlands region. This only happens to visiting players. Host is not affected. This makes the game unplayable online.
**Steps To Reproduce: Join a friends game, travel to the northern area of the farmlands region, and loot enemies/boxes.
since the new dawn waste of time update myself and my friend have had nothing but issues and this being one of them, I was host on xbox one my friend on xbox series s, everytime we did a base defense or a reaper or when in battle with multiple machines he crashed, added to this the constant crashing on the island of himfjall we also both had 2 gold RLG-7 which were in our safebox’s vanish, to us this was not a great update to the point we have stopped playing. its a shame as it could of been a great game
Having the same issue. Both my buddy and I experience it as the client only. When the host or playing single player, no lockups/crashes while looting. We both have all DLC’s installed. We have taken to pausing over body/box for a second or two before looting. Not sure it’s helping, but wondered if the container isn’t populated immediately and so trying to see if it reduces the issue. One console is original Xbox One and the other is a Series X. Don’t remember this happening before the New Dawn update.
I was plagued by this issue last night. There was just two of us in the game, both have all the DLC.
The host had captured most control points (and kept them empty) so there were only a couple of low level FNIX bases on the map.
But as a client player you take a gamble every time you go to loot a machine / toolbox / crate/ satchel.
It’s as if there’s an issue with the RNG loot creation and every so often it comes up with a crash. The game just freezes for client if their number comes up.
Both of us were on Xbox Series X, with all DLC installed, using wired connections on 1Gb fibre.
Completely agree over taking a pause before looting. And it never occured before the New Dawn update.
That said, it’s been 2 weeks now. I have seen it get better for my friend and I. However, it still happens more often than liked. Missing out on loot after wiping out multiple FNIX tanks because you looted a suit case is def not fun…
Same issue here as well. Xbox Series X and multiple crashes over the last few days. Any machines or items that can be looted will cause the crash to occur. Sucks
The devs are aware of this issue and based on tweets they’ve put out there are actively working on this issue. One thing that can help atleast until they do fix it, avoid really high enemy density areas as well as make sure you don’t have a bunch of fnix bases spawned
