M46 level 6 malfunctions at times

I use a M46 SMG a lot. With AP rounds it takes out the runners and lynx fairly easy with hunters being a little harder to take down where you need a full mag or two and at times 3 to destroy the hunters. When the weapon goes through the reload animation all works fine, but when you pull the trigger to shoot, it makes a spinning sound, no visual of the rounds coming out and nothing hits the target. Let off the trigger and pull again it fires ok. Most noticeable when in close combat and repeated firing and reloading at multiple targets. This is annoying when in close combat and getting swarmed. It seems to happen with all ammo types. But I mainly use AP and explosive rounds.

Yes it happens sometimes, at least i think its the same thing.
Sometimes no sound comes at all from using the weapon.
That happens too, right?
It always happens after a few hours of playing with no interruption to the game world/session.

No, it is a spinning up sound that it makes, and it is almost every time I am in a close combat where I have to repeatedly reload a mag. It’d like a round is not chambered and so you have to release the trigger and pull it again, other times you have to reload again. And length of play doesn’t seem to change it. And it can be annoying. I sprint and dodge while a reload cycle is happening. Then line up for a shot, but just get a spinning up sound.
