Marking bonus without binoculars

Hello,
Does anyone know if the augmentation skilled spotter (marks machine when destroying a componant) works with the skill desegnated target (enemies marked using your binoculars take additional damage)

If I can shot a component off with a weapon to mark it and then continue firing and getting the designated target bonus without using a binocular?

As far as I know everything that marks targets should give you the same bonus as the skill.

  • the skill
  • the augmentation
  • companion with spotter module

But I don’t know if it really works as intended.
