At some locations they have to destroy beacons they are not there I have quit the game come back and they were still gone.
Some (or all?) beacons will respawn after a certain amount of time, so if you wait a while it might reappear.
Haven’t worked in years, join someone on multiplayer usually gets some beacons back.
