More ideas to future content

1)Survivor ai systems
• Quests givers, they ask for items to barter for.
• Wandering ai raider packs that will jump you & demand goods or they’ll kill you.

2)survivor mode
• Gather food and liquids, food helps your health regen and amount stay flourished. Water helps stamina delay and restore speeds.
• drop tent/camp , helps moral that entails your ads faster smoother, aim sway less. Drop camp and sit solo or with a friend for some minutes to restore morales and allows plans of attack on next missions.
• bleed out and sickness system. Bandages and meds needed
• bots are weaker to balance

3)Crafting weapons ideas
• Explosive tip spear/arrows
• attach sound device or flares to explosive or emp
• sticky sound makers, throw them on bots and bots attack them more aggressively. Sounds funny to watch idk.
• cheap health kits from plant herbs
• brighter flash light, takes batteries to keep it going
• electric trip wires
• repair kits for weapons and exo

  1. stimulant boosters
    • only can use one at a time to boost running, health regen, boost resistance to damage…

  2. background effects.
    • at night we can see light blooms/explosions to give us an idea that the fight is on going else where
    • lightening strikes
    • sound effects like in the hunter call of the wild you hear chainsaws and helicopter/planes that sound like miles away to give you a sense of immersion. I’d like to hear jets and cannon fire in the background to give a sense there’s a battle going off some where.
    • U2 spy planes in the sky

  3. new bots
    • engineer bots. They can repair relays , other bots that you take down. Aka medical bots for bots.
    • tick hugger bot variant. They can jump clamp on other bots as a mobile gun.
    • survivor bot. They look like people and if your detected they will kamikaze detonate killing you instantly(works with the survivor ai idea)
    • seeker striker bot. Sniper/shotgun variant and they call people out with a human voice to call you out(works with survivor ai quest givers idea)

7)multiplayer mode (squad royal)
• up to 16 players / 4 squads against each other. I think it be fun to keep this a simple addition that is basically story with added players that can either help you or attack you for your items. Like done in other games such as dayz, division dark zones…

  1. unique weapon ideas
    • heavy machine guns. Deployable on players shoulders or the ground and various items like fences and window sills
    • firework grenade gun, shoots flares or fireworks
    • bot weapons

  2. exo suits
    • take down a hunter without total destruction and your able to retro fit a cage system to sit in it and a second player can sit on the back shoulders with a mobile gun.
    • repair kits to repair the exo and weapons
    • Attach and detach weapons, driver can use L2/R3 triggers to shot from arms.

  3. end game or expansion Aliens behind it all like in the movie “Maximum Overdrive” 1986 movie

Okay, so:

  1. Avalanche studios has worked hard to create a solitary environment, with a spooky success. This solitude fits into the storyline and enhances the world and gameplay. “survivors” and other human or human imitating figures would disrupt this solitude and break the mood that Avalanche worked so hard to create, and personally I would hate to see it go.
  2. If a survivor mode is implemented (I’m not saying it necessarily shouldn’t) it should be optional, as many players are opposed to this system, and love the idea of not having to survive the elements as well as the bots. As others have pointed out there are plenty of survival games out there.
  3. As far as crafting is concerned, I think that it is a great idea that should have been in the original release. I would love to build myself some nice 80’s accessories, and extra rifle ammo.
  4. Stim’s are a great idea, but should be rare, (like revives) to prevent players from constantly being OP
  5. As I stated in 1, this would break the solitude of the world (with the exception of the lightning) and I would not want this to be added without an option to turn it off as well. That being said lightning and sound effects such as screeching and stomping from far off enemies would not detract from the environment, and I’d love to see it implemented
  6. No comment on the bots. I would love to see a flying tank carrier though.
  7. No comment
  8. Keep in mind that our hero is a teenager / in their early 20’s. I don’t think they would have the physical strength to carry a machine gun for a long amount of time. As it is the player can’t even run for 10 seconds straight. At the very least something like this would significantly slow the player down. Not against the idea though, it sound legendary (and the player can also carry rocket launchers so maybe it might not be such a stretch)
  9. If this is implemented it should be a final tier of a skill, and should have to use significant power (car batteries?) to run, and an excess of ammo to shoot. This game is a game of hunter vs. hunted, and you are not the hunter. The player is intentionally weaker than all of the bots, and adding eco-suits might disrupt that balance.
  10. No aliens. Waaaaay too many games have that as their “plot-twist”. Same with zombies. But I would love to see an expansion pack for the game.

Just my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Worked so hard to create…? They’ve literally copy pasted the same 5 house and building designs over a huge map… as well as the same missions props and collectibles. And look how broken the game is. If I had to say, I’d say they didn’t work hard enough to make it good before releasing it.

And the whole solo player last person alive sounds cool, but it makes for a very quiet, lonely and boring experience. I’d like some other human AI in the game with camps to raid, or little shelters you could buy stuff from. And like the other guy said, pack of them who would jump you and demand stuff. I wanted to like this game, and I did for the first few hours, but let’s face it, you feel like you’re doing the exact same thing half way through the game as you were in the very very beginning of the game. And for future content? I mean, they’re going to have to add some pretty extravagant stuff to make the game feel different and engaging, with cutscenes and maybe more different types of buildings and props in towns. Maybe big silos to blow up I don’t know, but I don’t really have high hopes for the future content of the game…

Opinions are good. They can make or break things.

As for the comment about these are 20 year olds.
I personally was benching 350-400 in my 20-30s. We didn’t glue our faces in phones and tablets. So Lugging a m240b would be nothing for me then and now as it is for a 20s graduate lugging m249 today in our armed service. Besides these people were military hardened and trained as the back story was told. Also lookin at the region of lifestyle of the game I see these people aren’t any way or form push overs or weak frail city roaches. I see farm lands, industrial complex basically hard working people. Here Most of my school and graduate peers weren’t anything remotely weak as the generation z and newer as I live in the outskirts of Washington state(US). Don’t let shows like stranger things distort your view of the era with a bunch of liberal trump hating skeleton kids.

That’s a 40 year old gamers view that still drives around in a jacked up 1989 k5 blazer. That misses the 80s.

As for boring, it’s a little stale at this point but it’ll get better. I was over hundreds of hours on my first save before I deleted and reinstalled because of the bridge glitch. Now I’m probably even more hours in than that and yes now I’m at the point where I hardly see a bot unless I fast travel to the military air base only. My games pretty dead of bots at this point but the next patch will fix it.

These devs mean business. They pushed a product out early on purpose to mold it into a game the public wants with the universe they envision.

While having the same models for the houses are frustrating, you have to keep in mind the difficulties of creating all of theses houses from scratch. It’s not as simple as dragging a chair, wall, or tv from a menu bar. They needed to create the mesh, create a texture that fits the semi-realistic look of the game, format the texture for specular and small details, then map the texture onto the model so it’s oriented correctly. They had to do this for every piece of furniture, and every aspect of the house. Yes, they could have made more, but the few that they did make isn’t something to sneeze at. And given the rough unfinished state this game was released in I would expect them to have not created individual houses, especially given the map size.
Otherwise I agree that the game did feel very uniform, and as far as the raiders go I suppose that’s a difference in opinion, and I’ll let the devs decide on that one.

Most of that isn’t that rough to produce as for creating models and texturing. Depending on the number of people that studio has… Triple A studios would have many model artists, texture artists and animators. With modeling there’s perspective and accurate sizing for each model for consistency that tends to be the timely beginning process and organization of each file naming.(process of many) I went to school for 2 years but Obama new loan system tapped me at $32k debt before I could grad as a game designer at the academy of art university in San Francisco and now disabled dad to a 4 year old. But I still do here there photorealistic art but i have no drive from that prior school failure 6 years ago. So I know first hand. Polygon modeling, texture application and skeletal rigs for animations for organic and non organic items such as characters to doors.
Yes A lot of critical thinking from pre design, mid design and map placement. That’s just a small portion of creating. Than usually another team that puts all assets, characters and items in the world together those models are placed with another thought out process in the game engine and that’s another story in itself.
All what I’m saying is just a summary of a tiny middle point what all goes on.

So your absolute right it’s a tremendous time staking thing that some times thing have to be cut short to meet file sizing, production timing.

But as the devs state they want to work with us. We just need to be patient cause they’re only human, with a set number of employees and budget

I heavily like this studio from prior games. And their engine to me is fantastic for how well it looks for what little hardware it needs compared to many on the vast scale it shines.

I’m getting a little flip flop trying to express my thoughts. My 4 year old pulls my attention so I hope I made sense lol

@ColdwarWHLO I agree and disagree with the other survivors in the game but I like the idea of finding other survivors. If there was raiders who would wander around it could be fun and a good way to get attachments but then it would take away the feeling of suspense searching for other survivors and feeling like your isolated and the feeling of hope for finding someone else left alive.
