My first play through, some screenshots and comments

Hello fellow “killer robot machine slayers” hehe. Bravo Avalanche Studios. Thankyou for making a brilliant, creative, original game. This is a unique game, unique feel. Played similar types of games yet even so GenZero is very different to all of them. Challenging! Kinda’ feel like our real world is headed in this direction… Machine Armageddon.

Despite the recurring coding hiccups (and yes they stopped missions from completion but there was always something else to do) I’m still very fond of this exceptionally beautiful exciting game.

These are some random screenshots I took on my first play through. I’m aware the developers added a photo-mode but I’m not familiar with it yet. Been using Fraps, and I don’t hide the HUD neither. Maybe they’ll entice some new players to GenZero?

Got one gripe which was my silly mistake. I really don’t want to create another character (at least not yet, I’d like to enjoy level 31 for a while) but I made the critical error of listening to other players rather than following my own instinct. I wasted 2 skill points on Spotting Intel (Tech) but I never use it. Ever!!! For my style of gameplay (stealthy, sniperish) I lost out on ‘the’ most valuable skill in my humble opinion; Visibility (Survival).

The only game I can recall of where the developers offered a skill reset was Shadow Warrior 2 and I’m pretty sure it was due to an error “they” made in an update. My choice now is either begin a new game or wait and pray for developer generosity skill reset option hehe. Oh please oh please oh please.

I was thinking of a feature to add to this game? The one I came up with (but I presume others have already suggested it…?) is a “reorganise” or “rearrange” items quickly option. The thing I have dramas with during frantic battles is quickly sorting out my ammo/equipment. If there’d be a configuration where one click “cleans up” the boxes so new stuff can be added swiftly. That might be a helpful feature? And of course raise the level cap…

In any case I love the premise of Generation Zero. The graphics are really beautiful. Very realistic natural world and atmospheres. I’ll never forget the first time I saw snow in this game. It was so quiet, peaceful, and surreal. You really do “feel” isolated (but invigorated to survive). The machines… hmmm… sometimes I wonder if this game is a secret Google/DARPA robot dog simulation experiment? To see how us humans fight against the machines? One thing’s for sure! When they come (the robot dog invasion) and they’re coming! I won’t be going down without a fight. Unless it’s drones.

I had my first crash today, prior to today this game has never crashed for me and I’m playing with all settings maxed.

Special thanks to Tenebris Infinite for your helpful videos (and stellar effort mate). Your tutorials are golden!

Edit! I uploaded 40 screenshots but new users are limited to 5 images.

Heyo, welcome to the forums. I decided to put this in Feedback/Feature Requests, seems like it belongs better there.

I’d advice against uploading so many screenshots at once, for the sake of forum stability and cluttering up posts.
