My search for the KVM 89

I have been hunting on the the Himfjall island for over a month now killing (APOC/FENIX) Tanks and Harvesters. I know that the 5 star weapons mostly drop from that class of enemies. I believe tenebris also said that the LMGs have the lowest drop rate, but man I haven’t even seen a 4 star drop. Highest I’ve seen is a 3 star. I have all 5 star parts waiting for it but this LMG eludes me. Just making sure, this is the correct enemies to hunt and that there is no guarantee location for a 5 star KVM89? I know the EXP KVM59 exists but I like to collect the weapons and their attachments for testing as well as replacing them when their EXP version comes out.

I found the 5* KVM 89 on the third or fourth Apoc Tank I defeated! The 5* KVM 59 took me 20-30 hours of searching (not intensively, though!) But by then I already had gotten the 6* version.

Your safest bet on finding the 5* versions is on lvl. 4 Apoc rivals. Harvy’s and Tanks. :+1:

I’ve gotten exactly one 5* KVM 89 and never found any mods for it. I’ve only been playing a couple of months and I’ve gotten 4 experimental KVM 59s and several lesser versions. I’ve gotten a couple of 4* silencers and a 3* compensator and one 4* mag. The game rains 5* add on weapons and parts down on me to the point I have to wear a hard hat.

They can sometimes drop off hunters, so make sure you check all machines you destroy for hidden gems. I get the KVM 59 both 5* and 6* regularly but the 89 is a very rare drop.

I think I have gotten two kvm89 it total and then I been playing this game “a lot“, so I agree that it is a rare drop!

Either you push on and hope for Lady Luck to smile your way or you scroll through the “trade thread” here of on discord, there might be a mr, mrs, miss Luck there… (I would go for option “push on”)

I’ve had alpine unrest since the day it came out and I’ve killed hundreds of apocalypse tanks, spending most of early 2020 exclusively in Himfjäll. Yet, after all that, I’ve gotten only one KVM 89
