Exp. Magnus
So I can see what the goal was, but the exp kvm 59 is just better in every way imaginable. It doesn’t excel at crowd control and it is abysmal in single target. I don’t even keep the Magnus in rotation because it is poo. Collecting dust in my inventory currently.
Exp. “Algstudsare”
A very niche weapon, I can see how it’d be effective in certain applications but it is very limited. As well, the sights being a fixed feature this is no longer a sniper but a grenade launcher that encourages crazy arc shots. Can be fun but if you wanna take something out at a range the exp pvg just dookies all over this. Also collecting dust right now. The best application I can think of is a base assault, you could rain hell down on a base and level everything relatively quickly, but the exp grg already does a fine job of that and the ammo is cheap to make (as opposed to something requiring lead).
Exp. Kvm 89
Truly a meme, this thing is even more useless than the other two. Experimenting with heat ammo and shooting the components behind the tanks’ face plate was bad in comparison to plain pvg with fmj. Using fmj and AP I find it is outshined by just about anything due to it’s very limited window of opportunity combined with its’ cool down period. The weapon is essentially useless unless you plan on doing weapon wheel rotating to make use of it which is honestly tedious, especially in a game that struggles often to respond to player input it would be an unreliable tactic as well.
Suggestions?
I don’t know what to do about the kvm or the algstudsare, but with the Magnus I think the solution is simple. Make it actually deal damage. I have unloaded that thing with HP and explosive ammo into to fuel cells and the shrapnel hit machines all behind my target doing… absolutely nothing actually and then I died. Promptly fixed with a kvm 59 rampage. The thing is soft and weak. Increasing it’s range will also probably help a ton. Maybe make the initial round traditional, and the shrapnel is the experimental cherry on top because it being the only “feature” right now is not enough reason to acquire it.
