New weapon, new attachment and ammo change

Indeed,it’s was specially made arrow head - looks like needle.But usually against knights were used crossbows with armor piercing bolts.Medieval armor was just 2-3mm thick)))

The one way that a bow could fit in and be useful would be as a deliveery system for an eexplosive device that could not be tracked by the machines. I could believe that machines triangulate your position from hearing the weapon go off, even if it is a small pistol. Sharp noises travel and if their microphones were really sensitive a gunshot would spike sufficiently, even at long range.

But imagine that they could not triangulate the “soft” sound of a bow. A crossbow makes a cracking noise, but a longbow doesn’t. So it would give you one single option in your armoury for engaging a machine in a fashion that it could not detect you. The machines would react, and run about looking for you, but it would give you an entirely neew way to play an engagement. So imagine the force of a grenade, but indetectable (unless there were enough machinees that they eventually could find you).

It would add something to the combat options, without taking anything away, and without being unbelievable.

@Bootie
Gun shot is hard to triangulate due to echo and reverb.
NOT impossible, but hard.
A constant noise then, like that of an engine, is MUCH easier, due to the real sound overcoming both echo and reverb.
Bow would be darn quite, but would require a rubber thingy [like from a toy arrow] point to make the arrow stick to the machine’s armour?

On top, depending on the weight of whatever you want to deliver, arrows would react bad to it?
I’m an LMG gunner, not a medieval bow knight, hence my Q’s. :slight_smile:

No! Explode on impact - either on the machine, or on the ground beside it. At longer ranges - say 200 metres max, you’d be guessing. You’d get better at judging where to fire it as you went on…

@Bootie
Like a Rambo arrow tip, got ya. :slight_smile:

A search for “mortar” returned a lot of references to tank mounted mortars, but I didn’t find any requests for a mortar operated by the players against the machines. I would love to see a mortar on the weapons list. Not necessarily one to carry with me, but placed at strategic positions. It could be a “mortar nest” where the soldiers had been taken out. It could be near the windmills, so you could take on the always present tanks.

What about an MG nest then? :thinking:

I think I proposed that some months ago. I would love that too. Especially if the devs have any plans of making more “wave attacks / protect the flag” missions (I don’t love that).
