Description: I seem to be only able to get apparel schematics from rivals and this is not 100%. I though it was just the schematics in the world wouldn’t add to an existing total which meant you had to spend everything get to 0 then pick it up. Now that doesn’t work either. I’ve 0 out everything but experimental and still don’t get points from schematics found in the world. I only get them when I kill rivals and that isn’t 100% this makes the grind for apparel points formidable and means that I’m constantly lowering my threat level to get even the most basic of apparel improvements. Slowest grind in the game at this point.

Steps To Reproduce: Unfortunately at this point all I have to do is pick up an apparel schematic and watch it turn into 100 xp and naught else. It has probably happened at least half a dozen times.

Yep! I believe this was changed a while back. I think you only get apparel schematic points by defeating Rivals now.

Don’t you also get apparel schematic points for crafting apparel?

Btw someone wrote that he got apparel schematic points for crafting experimental ammo… Which I don’t believe, but take a try.

I think you get points for schematics when you craft something. If it is clothes, you get apparel schematic points, crafting exp ammo you get exp ammo points, crafting goods like ammo boxes and first aid kits gets you points towards those things. Same when you craft things for the runner. Once you get all the schematics, you no longer get any points.

I like the old way where you had to hunt for them.

Crafting experimental ammo grants you ammo points, not experimental points.

Last time you wrote apparel points.

Maybe a typo? :man_shrugging:

Before this point system and when crafting of ammo became a thing, the basic ammo schematics were collected at different places on the map and to get exp ammo schematics to had to defend the resistance base. Each completed defense was a different exp ammo schematic or one of the two first aid kit schematics. I think it all changed when control points were added and we all lost our resistance base, with all supplies.

All I am saying is you get points to be used towards schematics that match what you are crafting till you get all the schematics. Clothes = clothes, ammo=ammo and so on.

You do get Ammo Schematic Points for crafting ammo, Equipment Schematic Points for crafting equipment, and DLC Schematic Points for crafting DLC Items. However Experimental Schematic Points come from, Base Assault & Defense Missions, not crafting. Crafting Apparel items has no effect on ones Apparel Schematic point total. I have gotten Apparel Schematic Points from pickups but not in a while. Perhaps the last time was when I did ‘Never Trust Anyone’ for the Blast Proof Jacket. I noticed I couldn’t improve it till I ‘unlocked’ my way to it. Since then pickups go poof and I have to farm rivals. As I said that’s not 100% reliable but perhaps this is due to some being Ryska Rivals.

I agree with you on crating ammo gets you Ammo Schematic Points but in my experience crafting Clothing/Apparel doesn’t give Apparel Schematic Points. I just tested it. If it is suppose to and/or does for you and others that’s awesome. But it never has for me,

I neither can confirm nor deny.
I got all the apparel crafting schematics before that changed:

As loot from rivals.

So before they change did you get specific apparel item schematics vs points? I.e. Level 3 (5%) Blast Resistance Shoe Schematic, or Level 1 (2%) Bullet Resistance Pants Schematic.

Yes, that was the way it went.

You used to have to collect the schematics in world, and the problems was that if you didn’t collect them in order, you might screw up your progress on a particular clothing option. Like collecting Bullet Resist Pants 3 before Bullet Resist Pants 2, you could lock yourself out of getting 4 and 5 as drops from rivals (which was how you got them originally). Also, drops from rivals was really hit or miss, so even if you could progress your schematics, it might be months before you ever saw the one you wanted, or even needed.

The new system has its flaws, but it is leaps and bounds ahead of the old one. Also, you can collect schematics points by finding schematics in world still, but they aren’t specific schematics anymore, and just give you 1pt.

I remember that differently.
I never had problems with the progress although I didn’t pick them up in order. I was glad about every schematic I got… Some took reaaally long to get them.
Of course, if you have picked up i.e. bullet resistant shirt 1c, 3c and 5c, you were just able to craft apparel to 1c, because 2c was needed for 3c (and 4c for 5c).

But as soon as you picked the missing ones up, you were able to continue.

There was a time, immediatly after they changed the way how we got the schematics, where it was possible that you got locked progress, If you were still Missing some schematics.

But that got fixed after some weeks or months :man_shrugging:

To see what schematic needs points just look at the schematic log. And each category tells you where you can collect the points. Apparel is in that list.

The points tree is set up so you cannot buy a higher level schematic without first using your points for the lower level schematics and work your way down the tree. If collect a schematic off a rival, not points, and already have that schematic, you do not collect points for something you already have.

Like you already have a level 4 jump shoe schematic but come across the schematic on a rival, you can still collect it but get no points for something you already have.

Exp ammo is in the exp schematic category and is not in the ammo category. Base ammo crafting gets you base ammo points. But crafting exp ammo gets you exp points. Which you can use the exp points to buy the exp first aid schematics. Again, you can verify this by looking at the schematic trees in game.

Nevertheless, we’ve got this bis Carni:

Good point. I assumed that the old method of playing the base defense was changed with the rest of everything and it shows the price of “points” needed for each exp schematic. But it does state on the exp schematic tree that you collect exp schematics via base assault and defense. Where do you collect exp points then?

It showing points is where I concluded that you could also craft exp ammo to earn points for buying the other exp schematics and skip base assaults and defense to earn them. Why else would it show cost of exp schematics?

The schematics showing up on rivals is part of the old method but you can buy them also via crafting and earning points. Is the exp ammo not part of the change?

I get that but for whatever reason I don’t get those points I find in the world now. It’s not game breaking just an irritating bug for me. I’ve got plenty of 5C weapons & attachments some that just sit in storage. I’ve even got a 6C M/49. I’ve got my companion, ammo, DLC, trees fully unlocked. I lack 3 or 4 finishing equipment but that’s just apathy, but honestly my apparel schematic tree is as slow as experimental maybe slower. One 5% is my best piece of clothing, then couple of threes. To make even meager progress I have to clean Sweden of all my rival crashing my region threat levels all to gain 2-3% on one item. Then it’s a slog to bring it back up so I can have a chance at doing a base assault only using a submachine gun or pitchfork.

Sorry for the whinging. And I’m happy to report that I now get points for the apparel schematic world drops since the update.
