Description:
I do not have in game sound when using external USB sound setup. It works for all games except Generation Zero. USB -> RME adi-2 dac
Steps To Reproduce:
No sounds during game or game loading to menu. Only way for me to get in game sounds is to turn back on the on board sound from the motherboard and use that for my sound card.

with the Windows 10 there are more than one USB slot have you tried using them?
Hello,
I have tried all 6 of my USB ports. They are a mix of USB 2.0 3.0 and 3.1
oh try a new set of headphones or other USB cables in your home
I have tried 3 different headphones and other USB cables. No luck for just this game. I can play fine for any other of my steam games.
No real help here, sorry but…
You are launching the game with the correct soundcard already active right? The game locks the soundcard and you cant switch around without restarting the game again.
If you want to fiddle around some you could also try to disable the onboard audio in bios if youre not using it for anything and see if the game then picks it up when it’s the only card available to use.
I’m using a focusrite 2i2 usb and a steelseries usb interface without conflicts.
I do make sure I have the correct sound card selected when I load the game. I normally have the on board disabled via the bios and I only enabled it for this game to figure out why I had no sounds.
I have also disabled all other sound options under the settings, like the nvidia audio/monitor/etc.
Since you have USB audio working I will have to dig out my SMSL SU-8 and insert that into the chain. Now I am wondering if there is something with the dedicated RME drivers and how the game sees them. I made sure I have the latest ones installed which were this month.
Thanks!
Ok… Thanks to Znurrad for confirming that USB audio works.
I just tried to fiddle with my SMSL and it worked! … Then I realized it defaults to 32 bit and 48k sampling. I upped it to 192k and it still works but if you go over 192k then sounds no longer work for this game.
I then put back in the RME and lowered it down to 192k and it now works.
TLDR: Problem solved now!
