When i get a steam cloud error (various reasons, including loss of internet, and others such issues) a window pops up in game and when i close it the mouse stays visible even though I am not in a menu.
You could switch to windowed mode and back to fullscreen.
This happens to me aswell, @Madchaser switching to windowed mode and back doesn’t help, the only solution is to close the game and start it up again.
Ok, it was worth a try.
Back in the days when I played on pc this was a way that helped, when I had a mousepointer on my screen, where just a crosshair should have been.
Are your graphics drivers and directX up to date?
Yes, drivers and everything is up to date, at least from my part, can’t answer for original poster. But this only happens when connection to Steam is broken in some way, and you get a notification that states this and your only option is to click ok on the promt. From there on the cursor is stuck in the game, not centered on the screen.
Double-tabbing Alt-Tab doesn’t help, too?
Or pressing enter instead clicking the prompt?
As its already been said before, the only way to fix this is to relaunch the game. There is no other way to fix it unfortunately, and its been a problem for at least 2 years since ive had a number of times since grtting GZ on Steam in 2020.
