Persistent Detection Meter

I don’t know if this has been reported yet, I did a quick search and didn’t find anything but please remove/merge this topic if it already exists.

Platform: PC
OS: Windows 10
Observed in Solo and Multiplayer (can’t remember if when hosting or joining, could’ve been both).

Every now and then, the detection meter appears on screen when there are no machines within range. It’s always one point away from full detection and it stays visible until entering combat.

It can be either in yellow or gray color.
Fast traveling seems to fix it, but it returns shortly after. It might be related to positioning/dead machines lying around.

It may have to do with the amped-up Machine AI that came with April 2020 Update. They’re a tad too sensitive right now. A fix is on the way.

I bought the game after the last update, can’t confirm this was happening before.
The tweaked AI might be the culprit, but I have the impression it’s not related to being detected from across the map because the indicator doesn’t react to distance (no increase or decrease according to my movement, it remains as you see it in the screenshot). I’ll keep an eye out for it after the next version is out.

I am under the impression that this usually happens when attacking large machines or rivals - it seems they keep their bearing on you, even when miles away. Small fry doesn’t cause this afaik, tho I had some hunters act like this on occasion.

I’ve encountered Runners making that aggro sound from very far away, but I always play with the indicator off so I can’t verify it sadly.

As far as i’ve seen it in my own game, that full yellow proximity marker appears and points towards that machine with whom you were in combat but you escaped that combat (e.g run away or die and spawn in safehouse).
