Hi,
I’m mostly a PC player and have been for several years, except my PC just broke and i have to wait 7 months to get the new parts shipped. I saw this game and really wanted to play it, so i bought it on Xbox. As i am a PC player, i hardly have any experience with controllers and think it would be a worthwhile thing to do to add m/k support on console. It would just help all us less controller competent people out there. I know most console games don’t have m/k support, because of players having unfair advantages in PVP situations, but as this game does not offer that, i feel it would not be disruptive or gameplay. I really love this game and the 80’s style environment it provides, and i just wish to experience it in the best way i can.
Thanks!
P.s. Couch co-op split screen would also be a very useful addition for us console players
I agree with the support for Keyboard and mouse for Xbox given its a PvE game. But I don’t think they would be able to couch co-op. It’s a reasonably heavy game in terms of graphical memory usage, and doubling that up, even at reduced resolution would probably be to much for even the One X to handle when everything is going off on screen.
Yes, i suppose the problem these days is with good graphics, it limits other possibilities that could be available. Its just a shame that so many games have removed that element of social interaction. Users can still talk online, but its just not the same.
There used to be a game on Xbox 360 with mechs (Chrome Hounds I believe) that’s did something awesome. You had to use In Game chat in matches, It wouldn’t let you play in matches while in a party. Annoying to some I guess, but the game itself had a cool mechanic with radio towers / control points you had to capture in order to maintain open communication across the map. If you didn’t control them or went out of range, or worse, the enemy team broke the chain, you lost coms to your team and any intel provided by them.
Not really relevant to Gen 0, but something I haven’t seen done since, and a cool feature in a PvP environment. It really opened up some dirty tactical options.
At the risk of going way off-topic, Chromehounds was awesome. What about those multi-mission campaigns?
Have you heard about M.A.V. by Bombdog Studios? It’s totally-not-Chromehounds-for-copyright-reasons. Much the same way that the intro music to Generation Zero is totally-not-the-Terminator-theme-for-copyright-reasons.
Yep, and it is basically Chromehounds, if not a little bit better. It really needs a console port tbh, I’d be able to get the old crew back together
Also the missions were really well done, I loved the multi mission structure, and the whole world at war with the the whole voting on the next leader system. Man. I miss that game.
