Please help <The Solo Man>

I just want to roam free without the machines taking all of my hours worth of work. Four rockets, three grenades and a load of swearing is not ideal for the solo player to take out one let alone two machines. Someone please tell me that solo playing is not the intent of this game. Someone please tone down the difficulty level. A tweak of Adrenaline Shots from last update has greatly affected my game time experience. Holed up in a remote ocean side house, scared too death and eyes glued at the wall. Please help The Solo Man. Thoughts!!!

I too play solo. My standard practice is to try to engage machines from a distance or from inside a house. You can escape by running, even from a house that is surrounded. I generally survive a battle in a house, either sniping from the upstairs or downstairs by blasting with an assault rifle through the windows. It can be slow going but, I generally win. If everything fails, ‘Run Forest Run!’

Barns, at present, are suicide traps. Hunters clip through the walls too easily.

I’ve played this game solo a whole lot. Got one character at max level, and another at level 16. Generation Zero is a co-op came, but can definitely be played solo. You just have to consider the fact that not all fights will be fair. You’re going up against large and dangerous enemies, and often you’ll have to plan ahead on what to do, where to fight them to gain advantage. You can shoot electrical boxes on houses to stun enemies. Cars explode when shot repeatedly. Gas tanks can be used to set traps, etc. Use your binoculars to determine the machines’ capabilities.

You’re also far more likely to encounter more advanced (FNIX & Military) machines to the north of the map. One could say, that’s where the current endgame stuff is. The first island contains primarily Prototype machines.

Well it was supposed to be a co-op game

TBH after the adrenaline famine I sort of learnt to embrase respawning in safehouses as a necessary part of the game.

If I wanted to complete a mission or remove something from my book of grudges I would head back to where I was killed and try a different tactic (usually involving long distance kills)

Also the bots (usually) are weakened from the fight that I was having and they haven’t wandered too far.

I also treat the return to 100% health as bonus first aid kits

If it’s a long walk then I try to make sure that I have a radio with me the 2nd time.

I loathed the Radar mission as I died so often simply getting to the site.

If said this b4 the field radio ISA slot players best friend if get into trouble as in to many for you to take on and running low on adrenaline drop a field radio normally best if you run away a bit then drop when u die go safehouse then radio

The solo experience in this game is basically sneaking around to get to your objectives while trying to avoid unnecessary engagements with machines. When you do engage, you have to pick your battles carefully. You need to use the tools you pick up to set traps (radios with explosive cannisters) and use distractions like flares and fireworks to your advantage. And it’s also wise to disengage and run away if you have to.

Stealth, strategy and cunning are required. Going in guns blazing will only get you killed.

I play solo too. You have to pick your fights wisely and move very quietly and slowly in order to not be detected. Also try to equip shoes that have the noise reduction on them.
