Possible game ending glitch/bug

XboxSX
After playing for over 4 years I have been hit by a bug that appears game breaking. My play style is to loot and store anything and everything on a mule. Not everyone’s style of play but it is mine.
Today during play I was in the process of changing to my mule character when the game stalled for about 10 seconds before fully loading. On opening the Plundra I found that the mule was empty and all 22000 of it’s contents had been dumped into the Plundra.
I don’t know how to rectify this as every action involving the Plundra now takes between 5 and 8 seconds. As the Plundra is universal across characters and worlds this seems game ending to me.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received?

Emptying the Plundra might help and how did they get to 22,000 (kg?)? Normal is only 1,800 kg. Is this for everyone together or per world?

My suggestion.
Fix what you don’t want to do, but might be the only way to fix this. Pick up everything from plundra if possible. Place some weapons, ammo and equipment you need back to plundra. Drop everything else on ground. Quit game and load back. This will permanently delete excess items left on the world.

Yes, plundra is universal and is shared across all the game worlds.
You can pickup items over the carry limit of any character, and go way above >120kg movement limit.

By way of an update i spent all day yesterday deleting and transferring items from the Plundra (bearing in mind each transaction takes about 5 seconds this was very laborious) I am now left with a Plundra containing well under it’s limit of 1600. However every transaction within it still takes 5 seconds and it still takes 15 seconds for it to open making game play very slow.
Recycle centre still works perfectly and everything else within the game still works.
I’ll carry on for a couple of days and decide then whether it’s worth carrying on.

This goes little bit to guessing.

Might be broken save file maybe. Something left over in the save game file. I would contact support and send save file to them investigate.

Have you tried to verify / validate game files?

  1. How to send your XBOX savegame files to Support.
    XBOX
Unfortunately, at this time, XBOX does not provide the ability to retrieve your savegame files and share them with support. You can continue to back them up to the cloud, though. More information about this is listed in step 5.
