Assuming you are playing on pc, right? Nobody’s fps gets that low, I have no doubt you are running the game on a crap pc, and haven’t adjusted your settings to account for it. If you are on an older console, that will do it too. Keep in mind your messages will probably be received a lot better if you aren’t telling the devs how sad they they are. This is by no means a small game, they can’t always get every little detail correct, but id say they do a pretty good job. And if it’s so unbearable and sad, quit playing.
Wow, why the hate and toxicity? Plus my PC is fully capable of running all other games at 60-100 FPS just fine, so it’s not my PC - it’s the game.
There can be many reasons on PC.
Different hardware, different drivers, different other software running in the background. The all can affect, but don’t have to affect the performance of a game.
Of course there also might be certain locations or situations that can cause a FPS drop.
So what the devs could need for eventually improving the game are specs, logs and more info about the ingame situation. But don’t bet on it.
I did have Mozilla sitting idly in the background - unaware of it, but I did fight a small group of lynxes, 2 russian birds, 1 wolf rival, and then later another bird with no issues. The FPS drop happened when I went bit further up, where a bigger group of machines were fighting each other - which would not cause me any issues prior to the hotfix, at all. Prior to the hotfix the game was working just fine.
Sometimes after an update it could be useful to verify game files.
DId that too, I learned previously that Gen Zero needs to be verified frequently
So this is feedback about an issue, that you don’t want fixed? What is the point of this thread exactly?
I got the same, again, after the last patch on my crap PC.
Better get a 9800X3D with 128GB DDR5 @8000 mhz and a new RTX 5090 with the best PCIe gen 5 drive there is so it can run a 5 year+ game, probably on a 1080p screen so I get a stable 60fps.
My system that need to be replaced
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
64GB DDR5 @6000 mhz
Samsung nvm 990 Pro 2TB
Asus Rog Strix Gaming 3080 Ti OC
Asus Strix “something” 27" IPS 2560x1440 G-sync 165Hz capped at 100fps, because this game is a real badass that make Cyberpunk 2077 shy.
Still those aren’t bad specs at all, I have an AMD too, didn’t know that amd drivers sucked when I got it lol. Still as long as you change enough graphics settings you can run it at pretty high fps. I swear the game is so much harder to run with high fps now
My cpu before was an intel i9-9900K and gpu a GTX 1080Ti. Could without any problem cap the fps at 100 and max all settings in GZ. @144fps I had to do some adjustement like water reflections and other from Max to High, barely visible if you weren’t looking for differences.
The I upgraded the gpu, now it was everything on Max @144FPS, a fps drop in absolut worst situation was at 141-143. Then the cpu upgrade, now I could even go up to 165fps but I found the fan noice
disturbing so down to 144 again. Stabel 100 or 144 or 165 fps in GZ doesn’t matter. It’s either Solo or Co-Op, not TDM or BR in some leauge.
Then there was the Skyfall release, fps was still there without any drop but we had other bugs. And so we got the patches and everything, especially fps went so far south that friends left GZ - they had enough!! All had excess capacity on thier intel PC’s, I was the only with AMD cpu so don’t drag that about bad AMD drivers btw.
And don’t even clame that people plays on crap pc when the patches is shit!
I GET fps in singel digits every time I jump in to a decent big fight after latest hotfix!
Getting in to the big battles…
I also have a few places where my FPS goes down, but I now know where that happens and avoid them if possible or look at the ground and then the FPS recovers immediately. I have to say that I play with a 1660 Super and a Ryzen 5 4600G and my FPS limiter is 60 FPS. I have never needed or tried more than that.
The point of this feedback post that I am giving a feedback on my experience playing the game after the hotfix got dropped. and that the previous game versions worked just fine without the need for any sort of fixes - now another fix is needed to fix this mess, and hopefully doesn’t cause even more damage that would require even more fixes in the future. The post is pretty obvious and self-explanitory - the game was working just fine, now it’s not, because of a hotfix.
It must be my settings or something, I have a worse PC than most people on here, but my food never drops below 30, even at the worst, not sure why
I don’t think you remember the past few versions right, we still had all these fps drops, and in fact they were worse than they are now for me; they definitely were not perfect like you think they were
I really don’t, no, but at least those FPS drops pre-hotfix update only dropped to 30-40 fps for me, and didn’t last all that long, few seconds tops. Now these drops come in like a fully laden semi-truck, and stay there pretty much permanently, or until I leave a certain distance, or lose the will to play the game at all. So now I’ll probably leave the game until the next patch, or hotfix, or whatever, that actually might fix this issue (and hopefully other ones too).
It is what it is.
Just trying to understand. I have no idea if re-rolls are possible, or what’s causing it.
I have seen FPS-drops in the game seemingly at random (sometimes combat related) as early as 2023, it could be a bug that has stuck along for a lot longer. My PC specs are pretty average otherwise.
It always been “areas” where fps goes down with stutter since Landfall was released.
Several of the areas are where there is clear outs in the forests or around the crater with lots of twigs on the ground but also some open fields when you just cross them. That’s something with the world and how it’s built up.
The massive fps drop that been introduced literally everywhere after Skyfall patches then finaly reduced to some what acceptable to now exist again after the latest patch, is something else entirely.
It also seems that it goes hand in hand with the stupid splash screen of the old gun you picked upp 15 minutes ago and even the fact that you can’t press the “recycle resources” button, until you have selected all sort by sort.
I remember people reporting of (myself included), those FPS drop areas even before the Skyfall, personally I remember a certain spot in a north-west-ish corner where that weird facility/area is of something blowing up and having radioactive splatters all over - (potential spoiler, idk how else to hide text) v
where you can find the Reaper collectable.
One just north of Overly airbase.
I’d just walk, 60 fps and everything is fine, and then suddenly a drop to 10-15 fps static, and it would happen just in this sort of specific radius. Step out of it - game works fine, step inside the radius - 15 fps and heavy lagging
mate stop trying to glaze the devs i have an Xbox x and a 4k tv and sometimes my frames drop so low its with everyone so how about shut it
