Like many a game do: hand out all game stuff that you want to release on a test server system that features it’s own “Bug Report” system.
New to be released (thus tested BEFORE the launch of X) (and of course old) content would be tested by the community (either selected players or open-to-all, both can work), and bugs would be reported.
This would bring back the work load on the Dev team (testing), free up their time, so they can fix more.
Result would be: less stress for the team, way more bugs found (more eyes just see more), a less buggy game as result.
There already is a select group of off sight testers in the community.
More bug reports before launch = more stress for the team so your idea wouldn’t reduce stress for the team sadly, and wouldn’t actually result in less bugs.
It comes with the experience of gz, if you’ve played for a long time you would know this. Over time as the game becomes more optimal we will gradually see fewer bugs, it’s all a matter of having the patience to support the team/game throughout high times and low times.
Of course and it’s not like its a bad one xog, just sadly in reality wouldn’t do much to help overall except potentially complicate things for the team i’d think.
But you can agree hopefully that the real supporters of this game will be here bugs or not
I was not known how testing and such was done, hence the idea.
Who knows, it just might have been a good one…
Only trying to help everyone out, in my own bizarre often way. XD
Hm. You take the group that can stand the buggieness and call them the real supporters. That is one way to put it. How much more people could enjoy the game if it were more bug free. How many more supporters.
It’s not standing it, it’s supporting something outside of its flaws. All video games have bugs, some more than others and generation zero is far from the worst when it comes down to it. The people that do fully support this game get that and have the patience to see it through to the point where it is what it can be.
Either this or a sort of Super Tester system like World of Tanks & some others use with volunteers on all platforms under a enforceable NDA testing. Both systems have been proven to work very well within the industry.
That all said this game is so very ground breaking & complicated bug/glitches are going to happen. Yes I was disappointed with this DLC release after being teased so very well but, mad, angry or salty I am not. Of the thousands of things that could have gone wrong 900 did not. BTW this is why most companies do not do major updates or DLC’s on Xbox during Americas Thanksgiving week.
I love this game. Period. That is why I work hard on posting and reporting whatever I can in the hope that one day - long after I have stopped playing (nothing lasts forever) - the experience will actually be smooth overall.
But it is the buggiest mess I have played as far as I can remember in detail (which is at least 10 years in terms of video games).
Good keep it up, the bug reports go a long way. I’ve seen dozens of the bug reports I’ve posted get fixed over the past 10 months.
Not pathos at all actually unironically the opposite.
Actually, this is what I DID have in mind, a bit…
Still, if this brings (even more) stress to the Devs, as @tene said, then I can’t see it work, it will not be positive overall…
Idea was to be of some help, not to tore the poor team apart.
Thank you.
There is ZERO way a small group of players “Super Testing” would cause any stress at all. This sort of thing is used widely within the industry by companies of all sizes. wargaming was smaller that Avalanche when they started a ST…
Anyway have a great week!
