Nope. The 1st generation of PS4 controller, that came with the console.
And yes… All other games work fine.
The accessibility and swapping the button assignments worked here also, but far from optimal imo, as I’m so used to having R2 as trigger in all games. Would much prefer a fix so it works with the default assignments even on 1st gen PS4 controllers. Tried on both the controllers I have, and none of them work as intended for the game. (Both 1st gen)
Edit: Strangely enough it seems to work sometimes if I press down R2 and L2, but it isn’t consistent. It works maybe 1 times out of 10.
The problem is, that on some of the older controllers the R2 and L2 buttons are worn out and the sensitivity is messed up, for me in almost every racing game, maybe the devs can change pressure sensitivity for the R2 button. Sorry for my English.
That is another problem I’m also having with this game, yeah. The controller deadzones seem a bit too sensitive. If I put the controller on the table in front of me while the map is on screen it starts scrolling sideways and also zooming.
Same thing for me im on ps4 pro. Cant use flares fireworks and radio, but can use boombox propane tanks fuel cell fine. M’y controller works fine in other games… Playing solo or in multi dosent change. I réinstalle tje game still nothing
Also when in map cursor moves Very Very slightly on its own makeing it hard to pin point locations.

Map cursor seems to have the same bug in coop PS4!
Playing on my PS4 solo play throwables eg. Fireworks, flares, boom box …wont deploy , only gas tank , seriously limiting gameplay options .

So, will there be a hotfix for the issues? I’m gonna hold off on playing the game until it’s been fixed, unfortunately. Was eagerly waiting for this release, and really want to enjoy it as it’s supposed to be played. (Can’t afford going out buying a PS4 Pro controller for $70 just to play this game)

Hey, I have the same problem, absolutely loving the game. I just can’t throw anything and it’s hard because there is a dramatic difference in combat. Especially when I play with my friend that just lobs grenades around everywhere. I don’t have a special controller or anything, just your basic controller. Is there anyway to fix this?

I have the same issue, no throwables except the fuel cannisters work. The issue is persistent across both of my controllers, one of which was purchased less than two months ago and is in pristine condition.
Really hope this issue is being taken seriously as the current “switch controller” workaround is an unappealing option when controllers are more expensive than the game itself and both of mine work perfectly with literally every other game I own.

I have the same issue. Cant throw radios or fireworks / flares etc. Controller works perfectly for every other game.

I’m so glad this forum exists. I was literally going crazy trying to figure out why I wasn’t able to use certain items!!!
I was able to use first aid kits and place gas tanks.
I was NOT able to throw flares/fireworks and place radios.
Devs, please advise! This is GAME BREAKING!
I tried another controller. Luckily for me, the swap fixed the bug, but the fact that I had to find a forum to help me enjoy your game is ludicrous.
Both of my controllers are regular PS4 controllers and they work just fine with other games. An uninstall/reinstall did NOT fix.

I have the same issue and remapping the buttons on my “original” controllers fixed the problem. But…it’s not as confortable to play and since I don’t have problems with any other game, it should be fixed on the Dev side, no?

I have the PS4 Scuf Impact controller and I have the same problem. I can’t throw or use the radio. I can hold these items but nothing as far as throwing or using. I can hold the gas can and drop it. Like the rest of you I hope they have a patch to fix this.

im using a standard PS4 controller and it works fine on all my other games, but I’m having the same issue as everyone else here. I absolutely love this game but not being able to use distractions or explosives make the game a lot harder. Pls fix soon!

Hello i get same problem on Ps4 i delete the game and install 2time and change controller still same problem cant throw anything that fck suck plz send update fix on ps4 cause its not fun by playing whithout throw some stuff like othre player by able when play multiplayer.

Same problem here with two regular PS4 controllers. But here’s the kicker. When I was going to show another guy how it was messed up, that one time it worked! The whole game… I was throwing things and kicking butt - what a HUGE difference combat makes when you can use distractions. After that time, it has not worked again. I tried reloading, even turned the game off and back on. While I was in the bunker before I moved on, I threw ONE flare. Went to find combat, and then I couldn’t throw anymore. Whatever the problem is, it is in the game, not the hardware. I am wondering if it has something to do with the inventory, maybe having more than one space dedicated for flares makes it impossible to throw them? (I don’t know, I’m just pulling at straws cuz I want to play this frigging game!)
