Since the 1.49 update, the map does not re-draw to show roads & buildings in better detail when zooming-in. The resolution remains as though the map is still zoomed-out, so details are very hard to distinguish.
This bug persists for both my player characters & their two worlds.
I also notice that all small icons/images in the in-game menu & Inventory lists are missing. All tags (Inventory, Skills, Log, etc.) are affected. So, for example, there are no small icons in the Collectables grids for Trädgârdstomtar or Mixtapes.
That’s weird.
Maybe you should try to clear the consoles Cache.
Also, although I dont know if it may affect it, but do you play over WiFi or are you connected to lan cable?
Yes, I can cofirm this for PC/Steam. The game worked fine yesterday. The only difference I can see is the new announcement of a survey on the start screen, which also does not load.
(Maybe one optimization was the introduction of an online buffer for the images, if playing online.
By that the local system load could be reduced.
But if then the server doesn’t work properly, the imagines cannot load. On the other hand they must still be available offline for those who don’t play while being online.
So the fix would have to be an exception rule for the server being not available…)
While the game was running, I took out the internet lan cable from my PC (steam) but nothing changed. The map stayed blurry. I did get the message that I lost connection to Steam
You have to disconnect from the internet before you start the game. It does a check as it is loading up to see if it as access to the internet. If no connection is found then the game appears to start using local copies of the assets and everything appears to work again.
PC/Steam
I have the same problem, the map stays blurry when zooming in, the weapon wheel doesn’t show any weapons/items, only the amount of ammunition and I have rotating loading circles instead of symbols or pictures of the equipment etc. in the daily tasks or in the Plundra. I can’t say whether the resolution is worse
