I saw some old posts by me and other and i read through them and it seems that some think they are allies and some think they dont are, what do you think?
Personally i dont think they are allies, i have many reasons to think this but the biggest is that it seems to have thought each other in Boo
I am not sure that the soldiers in Boo where resistance, I believe they were part of the rouge soldiers. It may be that the soldiers thought that the Soviets were invading and opened fire. However the case I believe that the soviets are invading, they have no right to be in Sweden, and they arenât on a peacekeeping mission. I think the soviets are only here to steal technology and not to help. While I think this it doesnât mean that they would open fire on the resistance. Another reason to believe that the soviets intentions are malicious is the fact that they are on Swedish soil, while (according to US weapon pack) the US only have airdropped weapons.
I donât think the Russians are helping the resistance movement. There are several indicators for me why this is:
when a nation supports a foreign resistance usually they supply materials and have a few agents on site. I imagine like the British did during WW2. Since Russian equipment is always accompanied by Russian soldiers the supply story doesnât seem logical.
the Russian sites and the sites of the resistance are on different locations. The Russians use mainly existing structures (ruins, churches etc.) while the resistance hides mainly in the nature.
on no site of the resistance there is any Russian crate, weapon or similar to be found.
All those indicators show me that the Russians have different plans then the resistance has and they work separately.
Hi. Thatâs an exciting question. Quick question, long answer/opinion/idea).
Iâm not sure, why there are so many soviets.
Maybe just because of the geographical proximity and for fast help for the resistance.
As you read the notes from all the mission you see that many of the population thought, that FNIX belonged to a soviet invasion, so it is still possible, that swedish army and population first fought the soviets.
As the time went by and only the resistance remained, they learned that not soviets but an ai controlled FNIX. And you learn, that soviets and US tried to help with weapons.
But Iâm still wondering why there arenât more and heavier troops of soviet or US army if FNIX is such a danger. Why are there just some small camps (i.e. âThe soviet castleâ) and totally no sign of western support (except the weapons of the US weapon pack)?
Maybe itâs true and the soviets tried to steal the technology with just a few speznaz?
Where are the allied aircraftcarriers and/or aircrafts you would expect in such a situation? Was FNIX able to destroy everything incoming before reaching the land of Ăstertörn?
I hope, weâll get more answers in future updates/dlc.
P. S. Iâm true, I havenât read all of the notes from the missions, but I think enough. Otherwise I would be thankful for more precise answers, too.
You can speculate âtill you see green, little cosmonauts about why the soviets are in Ăstertörn.
Only one thing is for certain. The question needs to be answered at one point. I think weâll get more info eventually. Maybe not in the next game expansion, but perhaps one day in the future when GZâs âfinalâ major DLC is eventually released.
Well i think that (and i have too been at boo to look for awnsers) the Resistance maybe got there in a dark night and quickly set up defences and then maybe the next day or more there was a fight between Swedish forces and Russian, just think about it if the resistance now attacked the Russians then i think it was good. The russians are not here to help, they want to gain some of the tech for their own good. So if this is true we have had a battle between Swedish and russians. The war has begun
And a motive for the Swedes to attack the russians could be that we have been always seeing russia (then Soviet) as our enemies (okay that maybe was a little harsh but this is how it have been). And for the resistance to suddenly encounter the enemy that have been talked about for so long just building bases whould probably make the resistance attack. And the resistance is Swedish still so yeah.
And nice to see the community talking about something else than bugs and fps
My quick answer would be: no.
Thereâs several markers poining that. Like giving a teenager âan EMPâ, which is certainly ainât supposed blow up that hard or even explode at all. Vanguard forces are dropped as close as safely possible (North Farmlands seems to be deemed safest as it had large clearing for airdrop and not-so-powerful series roaming there) to main FOA facility to seize the control over it, but failed spectacularly being slaughtered either by relentless assault by FNIX (mind you, that itâs military defensive AI - combating conventional armies should be itâs forte) or devious guerilla warfare by Resistance, which I donât think welcomed warmly sudden military intervention by expected enemy (according to lore propaganda).
I believe that Soviets are there for some profit, probably the tech or other research (proximity to main facility). Should they really intend to help the cause - theyâd ally with NATO, pull off and spearheaded Operation Neptune/Overlord or, even better, Operation Iceberg.
