I snipe the jets, I do alright for horns off them.
Most things have been said. I didn’t notice they don’t respawn that frequently. Shipping containers are the most effective way for me to farm radios and boom boxes due to low looting time.
FWIW, I found a surprising amount of boom boxes in Ängsnäs Manor in a truck (south coast) plus 2 more in houses there. It was noteworthy, I literally took a note.
I just went there again and looted all 5 boom boxes (didn’t back then, iirc). Now I wait x h in game…

Yep, all gone.
So, three slots you could save if you just shot the car?
(Or still two if you really want to use the radio to perhaps get more enemies there at the same time and have them linger.)
I mean, if you’re just doing it for a laugh, then fair enough, I hear ya, but otherwise, it doesn’t sound like the peak of efficiency.
I mostly use flares or fireworks depending on the enemy. Great for making them gather around canisters, and great for making an escape
@Ennui I’ve had trouble blowing up cars. I’ve tried shooting them strategically and it takes almost as much work as shooting the robot. The last few went up to hunter flechettes (one cost a flare, the other I’d got my coat stuck in the hinge of the car door), and an embarrassing episode where a runner AoE’d me after I put a canister on the roof.
What do you recommend for blowing them up with guns?
I’m trying all sorts of different play styles at the moment, and I enjoy using things I’ve found in my location. So if I find robots near say, a loot crate with an EMP in it, or a fire work, I might try to work it into the encounter and have my fun without it taking up longer term inventory space. The radiomine game had hilarious comic timing on my first try, so yes, I’m not trying to be especially efficient. If I were, I’d wake a seeker in a narrow place, duck out and leave a grenade for the crowed runners.
I do feel there’s a difference between the different lures/distractions, but I have been saving the radios all over the map and am only now getting into testing. I guess it all ties back to my thoughts on balance and flexibility.
Sorry, don’t have anything helpful to offer there, as the problem’s not come up for me. I shoot it with a purple-plus automatic weapon, it blows up.
If anything, I’ve been blindsided by them blowing up too easily, like here where shooting one results in another across the yard blowing up:
I try to target the front of the car. Not sure if that helps though. They blow up rather easily. I’he read one shot gun shell is enough. Not sure if that is a good idea though as you have to be rather close for that.
EDIT: The PVG90 seems to work rather well. Ouch.
The PVG would, Pegnose The shot gun takes a lot more.
Purple pump, one bird shot shell. Kaboom.
But ouch. The distance sucks.
