Radios and Boomboxes

I find lures to be quite handy and I enjoy using them. However I’m struggling to find radios and boomboxes anywhere except in world, where I can only pick them up and use them the once. This means I have a finite supply. I know I can loot comm arrays from the flying disco biscuits, but I also want to use the more human tech too.

Do they ever appear in loot crates, or is there any other way to get them?

Radios are usually inside houses, in every single “zone”, i just can´t promise they are in every single house.
Boomboxes are usually inside containers sometimes at the airbase or in containers inside the command bunkers.
They never appear inside crates neither radios or boomboxes.
There is a guaranteed boombox in the beginning island coordinates 4086 1880

So basically there’s a finite number of radios I can use, and once they’re gone, they’re gone?

No, both radios and boombox respawn after some time.

Oh! And I’ve been saving them all this time :s
This is great news, thanks!

Some radios might indeed disappear , but most of them no, so you just need to find the “fixed” respawn places, and in the DLC island they are everywhere, i believe there are more there than in the entire archipelago region.
So go hunt for some rock and Roll!

The DLC doesn’t help, but thanks.

I thought you had gave in and bought the DLC.
Search in the airbase and in the north settlements
I also forgot to tell, they can be found inside trucks too.

No DLC, but I have seen the Shining.
If it was the story / FNIX thing that sounded like I gave in, I’m experimenting with modding, and found interesting things in the files. I’m also well into accumulating base-game story stuff, so that jumped out. The new class of machines feel like cartoons in decepticon colours to me, and if there’s a lot on the new island I’d be happier avoiding it completely.

Radios and the likes, are too rare, take up too much space, and, considering the difficulty of the game in general. are pretty much useless.

Dev team got a LOT of work to do to balance this game, thats for sure.

I find lures to be quite handy and I enjoy using them.
I agree the balance could use a tweak, and I might have done a thread on it. In any case, I don’t have a good idea what that kind of change would look like. It depends what kind of game the devs want, and I’m not convinced they know themselves.

Any trucks with furniture inside ’ on the shelves ’ big boombox

Radio and Boombox aren’t that useful later on in the game. Machines get harder as you move up further in the map. They spot you more quicker than you realized and they swarm you everywhere so you wouldn’t even have a time to spot them before they do.

Thanks, @MotorexGTR32. I’m endgame, I’m reasonably competent, I just enjoy playing around with these things.

No problem, @Flick. I’ve played with countless players online and never came across with anyone drop a boom box or radio except for using it for achievement purpose, that’s it.

I think they’re missing out. Mine and canister next to car, toss a radio on top. Bring marshmallows.

Very creative! Didn’t think of that.

Most radios don’t respawn, or at least not from what I’ve seen. It’s actually much more time efficient to farm lures from machines, though they don’t have the satisfying theme song to go alongside them sadly. Small/medium lures have the best effect as large usually draws in more of a party than you can handle unless you’re looking for a really wild fight.

I’m looking for really wild fights.
And thanks for the clarification about the spawns.

Then large will be your best friends  No worries! didn’t want you trying to farm something that is basically non-existent. Look for the FNIX seekers, they give the large lures and in very readily supply too as long as you’ve got the mechanic perk.
