Random freezes on PC with DLC installed

Win 7 Pro

Steps To Reproduce:
Random freeze and/or “Generation Zero has stopped working” crash. I cannot pinpoint any particular scenario when it occurs.
I’ve has it in combat as well as just traveling through the world.

The game can also run just fine for hours, and then crash, crash, crash.

I have noticed a pattern. It seems to crash when trying to populate enemies. I can clear out an area and travel for a bit and there will be nothing around. Then, it’ll crash and on restart there are a bunch of enemies at whatever nearest safe house I just cleared.
