Recon Update - Coming Soon

Isn’t the south coast already overrun?
With all these outposts?

There is almost nothing to defend for us… even if we destroyed so many objectives in fnix rising.

I’m still excited how it will look like. I didn’t expect them for south coast so soon.

But much more I’m excited if the promised fixes work. Sadly I didn’t get the terminator gnome mask yet… And if the fixes work it will take even longer.

Exactly lol, base assaults in general are pointless since the game already had FNIX bases. Except the old bases were not totally broken and all had really good lore.

Theres a few spots that immediately come to mind for me, problem being they are the spots that have the machine spawns. The area around Torsberga Fort, the area towards the Lighthouse, The open field west of Kalleby i think the town was called, and the area at the command bunker. I just hope these machine spawns get moved otherwise we risk having an empty region due to the control points being added. There could obviously be more areas that get revamped to fit these control points in, similar to what happened to the Farmlands in several locations just for the control points. South Coast was the last place that even needed any to begin with imo and should have been left alone from the Control Points

Yeah, I’m in the same boat but for me it’s the gold and silver mask. At least I managed to activate a gnome today but it dropped out at the end with a pink outline but it didn’t respond any longer… :man_shrugging:

Not sure what to think.

Always happy to have bug fixes, certainly can’t find reason to complain in that area.

They have a unique package with this game, sure enough it’s no longer what it was.

But they are improving it and that’s all I care about.

The base assault thing isn’t terrible but it’s not great and certainly could have alot more done too it, I mean to make it feel more natural.

If it’s going to be part of the game in the way they want it, it should carry more value, incentive.
A region with more FNIX bases should yeald more dangerous machines than a region settled by resistance. Regional buffs would be cool too.

Crafting certainly needs to evolve

Thiccer plot I wouldn’t mind, Make it Thiccc

Danger, needs a tad touch of more danger…or fear factor

:+1::laughing::fire:to bug fixes, I think we would all love some new missions with more lore and beef!
I’m going to build a boat to that empty island soon it’s just too tempting :exploding_head:

I’m still waiting for the second half roadmap.
I expected it for june or july. As it has been said in one of the last streams it should come with the next update.

There are just 4 month left for this year. What could come next? There are 3 regions left (+starting region) without control points. :scream: So what about the 4th month? Story? Features? Even control points for the starting region? Bug fixing? A new isle? A weapon pack? Or nothing at all? We don’t know…

Funny thing, apparently it wont be coming with Recon update but at a future update. Was said on Twitter to someone under the first post they made about Recon. We essentially are gonna a roadmap thats gonna be quite useless.

Heres the tweet - https://twitter.com/GenZeroGame/status/1557750521519276035?t=CL4HyH48hdYnkjaf1vAGEQ&s=19

A lot of negativity here. Most of it is justified, which makes me sad. All the same, let’s try to keep a friendly tone towards the developers, okay? Direct constructive criticism where it’s due.

Personally, it feels like fixing playability issues should be a priority before releasing more of the content that’s already affected by these very issues. Keep patches separate from content updates.

Don’t be afraid to spend longer time developing content, and don’t rush it. The end results will be better, and I think everybody will be happier.

That’s why Landfall and alpine unrest were so good, because the devs actually took their time and put passion into them, making sure the updates met their standards…whatever standards those are…and both released with near nothing but praise!

Sorta off topic I guess, but it’s not a road map if it only shows things that already happened or we already knew were going to happen months in advance.
Road maps are supposed to lay out, in a structured manner, the future of a project or game. The devs can still be vague with it, but I’d rather have it say “Paid DLC in November” then literally nothing at all.

Here’s hoping. Thanks for the info!

Me too, me too.

Especially thinking of my 1917.5 hrs playtime (according to Steam) and at the moment it somehow feels to me like it’s all getting flushed down the drain…
More half baked updates and DLCs than good ones and because of those damned FNIX control points the game is getting more and more unplayable because one is more and more unable to interact with the world (no “E”), less and less machines and god forbid to get near a control point for too long. If you hear the stuttering sirens just fast travel the hell out of there ! Sometimes that works, sometimes it’s too late…

I would not mind a little bit of both worlds. Combine the control point system with the ongoing story, like how Rivals were incorporated in FNIX Rising. I’m sure many cool things could be done.

Have missions tied to each control point, like how it was done with Command Bunkers :slightly_smiling_face:

If control points had lore or story, or maybe even had like a default pre-built FNIX/resistance base to go with the lore/story they’d be so much better

But right now they are just, uninspired, copy pasted, grids that the player can put a concrete box in.

And mix up the rewards and not the same old Blah, blah, blah resources when you destroy a control point.

Most of all, a paid DLC where you can take them out off the map if you don’t want them.

Any reward at all besides like 5 copper and a bag of concrete would be great to be honest

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and feedback on the upcoming update! All your thoughts around Control Points and their be or not to be is noted and shared with the team. I truly appreciate everyone taking their time to share their thoughts and I hope that we can align certain things in the game to more fit what people are after in the game today.

As a reminder, base building is a direct implementation after surveys and discussions with community members and is the direction we took to introduce a new mechanic that the majority of our players asked for. Now, of course, things change over time, and again, I’m glad that you all are sharing your feedback about this so that we can look into it for future updates.

Hey @Avalanche_Pontus,

thanks for the reminder.
I took part in this survey, too, but there never was asked for an amount of bases per region.

This mechanic of bases building, defense or the assaults aren’t that bad, so please don’t get me wrong.

Of course, the biggest problem which lead to all these complaints about it is, that there are so many bugs in relation with bases. And there are many possible bases.

It’s just the fact that there are too many of them.
In the survey you mentioned I chosed some options or wrote something about more base defenses or possible assaults too, but I also wrote that it should be limited to one per region.

Well, of course,… Who am I? Not everyone… And just another player with an opinion.

I just can’t imagine why a survey with positive results for more building, base defense and even the new assaults could lead in such a crazy high amount? Personally, I would have tested it with one spot per region instead of 7 new spots in the same region.

New stuff is ok, but too much of the same can easily make one become sick of it… And in this concrete case even with a bad aftertaste, as especially too many bases lead to unplayability due to these bugs.

But again: just my opinion… In many more words than I originally wanted to write

Thx for your response to the topic and our feedback and for your work in general.

@Avalanche_Pontus First of all, thank you for addressing us here on the forum

Now for some more of my opinions on the subject…

I hope the new update fix all the issues with crashes, but most importantly the issue that affect the spawn of free-roaming bots. Would be nice to see the assignments working as well. We will see when it launches. håller tummarna

But like me and many other here on the forum have pointed out, the control points are just tooo many. IMHO, One or maxium two per region would be a far better direction to take.
