Request: Antique weapons

I just had this idea. What do you think about being able to find parts from antique weapons (WW2 era, like the Ag m/42, MP40, Stg 44, MG34/42) and to assemble them to get the complete weapon? You could find these weapon parts in fixed (maybe random?) locations like houses, garages or crates.

Interesting idea but do the parts have different qualities so you can make different quality guns and do you also have to find blueprints for the gun you are trying to build.

The guns would either have one quality (tier 5 or so) or you would indeed find different quality parts like you said. Different quality blueprints instead of parts would also be an option.

At least with the ability to make different quality guns new players starting out and players that have finished the missions will be able to get them. Side note what about weapon attachments.

The Sjöqvist Semi-auto shotgun is based on an antique, the Sjögren Inertia Shotgun which was manufactured in 1908.

I haven’t really thought about that. I guess you would be able to mount existing weapon mods like red dot scopes or barrel extentions. Extended mags pose a problem here though. Maybe those have to be found seperately or have to be crafted after finding a blueprint.

I know, but my idea (should it ever be implemented) would give veteran players the motivation to go exploring again. It would also satisfy the need for more weapons. I know what you are trying to say though. It would interfere with the current system and wouldn’t make that much sense if you look at the Sjöqvist.

I hope that they implement something like this. I would be motivated to go explore parts of the map that I haven’t been to in a long time plus I can build what weapon I want when I want it so long as I have the parts necessary to do so.
