Good people attracts good people
Thanks @TimData We have a great forum going here!
Couldn’t agree more! It’s awesome to have a community like this, and we won’t let the spammers take over either!
I saw the launch replaying at least 30 times, basically every time I visited Aspholmen. It does this for me on PC -steam any time of day. The attack from the big FNIX canon on Masskar replayed for me also always, until the devs removed that trigger.
Here’s a night launch. For a daytime launch check “Talk about Planes and Airports”.
One trigger point is just before you reach the Örnbo bridge. I assume that the trigger is reset with the spawning cycle.
Ahhhh….I thought you might have seen this amazing display several times @Gysbert it really is a fantastic vantage point to witness the scene unfold! Sadly, I don’t think I can replicate it myself since I’m on console, but I can at least join my friend’s world on his Steam account and hopefully get a similar experience. The rocket destruction looks incredible at night as well, great photo!
Oh you should be able to.
For me it triggered there, too. I’m on PS5.
A trigger is a trigger. No matter which system.
There’s hope then! I’ve tried everything I can think of; searched all around the bridge and even waited a couple of hours in the spot from @Gysbet’s photo, but still no luck. Do you recall anything from your replays, @Madchaser like the time of day or exactly where on the bridge it was?
That’s all I can say.
There are more triggers points, probably to do with proximity. As soon the player walks in a certain radius of the Rocket Silo the event is triggered. So I bet it will be triggered on the west and north side too.
One time when I had fast travelled directly to the SSP Security Office, when I walked back towards the Örnbo Bridge it triggered at a different spot. See picture below.
Could your failure to get triggers have anything to do with frequently starting your new world trick?
Ah, that makes sense, so it’s more about proximity than a fixed location. I found that radial proximity works for a few triggers in the game so I’ll try this Thanks for sharing your Ornbo experience; it’s really helpful to see how the trigger zones can shift, I was thinking too laterally. I’m thinking my next move is to chug a load of Rad Meds and spend this morning zipping around the Launch Site to see if I can hit a possible trigger spot.
As for my failed triggers, that could definitely be part of it, I’ve been restarting new worlds a lot in my recent experiments, so maybe the game isn’t fully registering some of the event zones due to this. Has anyone tried this Rocket Replay recently? Just wondering if it might have been patched out in one of the updates.
Hey @TimData , I tried again just now starting from the first safehouse at the docks following the east coast southwards. Then I climbed up to the bridge, took out the harvester and some hunters, then I ran over to the plane and tank wreckages. From there I followed the strip between the bridge pylon on my left and the cliffside on my right, passing a very narrow passage behind the rock holding the pylon, and - voila - here goes the rocket. This was also what I did last time.
Took a few pictures too
Hope it works for you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain your method so clearly I really appreciate it. I’ve just given it a try myself just now, step by step, but sadly it still wouldn’t work for me. It may be because I’m on Xbox, who knows. I’m not giving up, it’s something I really want to see, so I’ll keep trying until I manage to trigger it. Your explanation has at least given me a better idea of the exact trigger point, and it’s encouraging to know m
No no, I’m on Xbox too. It must be something else …
That’s brilliant!! This gives me even more hope! Hmmmm……When you managed to do it, had you completed all the missions on Aspholmen? Does the time of day affect it at all? And can you keep repeating it over and over in the same world, or do you have to wait two hours between attempts? So many questions! I feel like I’m soooo close…
Yes, I completed all Aspholmen missions. There are a few FNIX rising missions that I haven’t done. Again this time it was daylight, but I will try again when it is dark. It’s been a few IRL days since I did it last time, but not much game time though. I would be surprised if I could do it repeatedly. At least I would expect that the two parts of fuselage in the sea must be gone, otherwise it would be a bit weird.
Edit: And I only play one character, a tough bastard. The other character I created … a beautiful dark girl … I simply do not have the heart to send her “out there”
It is NOT male chauvinism - I’m just soft and old school.
That’s really encouraging to hear! I’ve completed all the Aspholmen missions too, so it feels like I’m really near! Interesting that you’ve only seen it happen in daylight, @Gysbert has a beautiful shot of it at night, so I’ll try both day and night again just to be thorough. I’ve got all four characters working for me, so I’ll try with another of them too. And I see what you mean about the wreckage in the sea making repeats a bit weird, I think I remember @Gysbert mentioning it took three days for the debris to spawn out of the sea. Can’t see them clogging up the Baltic Sea.
Also, I love what you said about your character! There’s something about the connection you build that makes it hard to send particular ones into danger. Respect to your “tough bastard” for taking one for the team!
Yeah, It’s a bit funny, isn’t it? My “Ian” character has been through a lot and never complained a bit, and even though I’m fully aware that he’s just 0’s and 1’s I try to treat him decently. I always leave him in a nice safehouse with the doors shut and a Semla close at hand. He even has a girlfriend Annika that I let him visit in Göteborg a while back
My second character is, by the way, Annika.
Hey guys, I’m not at all weird, just a bit silly
I feel that you disturbed the progression of the game by trick starting new worlds multiple times, and that maybe your solution is to replay the aspholmen missions. That way the triggers will be actually be there. If you have the means to restart those missions I would at least give that a try. I saved a gamesave file from just before those missions, so that I can replay them if I want.
Thank you so much for the good advice. I think you’re absolutely right. I’ve messed up the timeline somehow, I seem to remember a chronology warning at some point. I need to replay the Aspholmen missions again. I’m going to set aside some time tomorrow to replay them all and see if that does the job. Fingers crossed this brings me one step closer to launch day!
It’s Taitiana, not Olga.
Sorry, you are right, @GlitchBane . I simply couldn’t remember and my console wasn’t nearby so I could check. At least I got her nationality right Thanks for clarifying
