I am trying to find the recoilless rifle but cannot find it anywhere. According the the interwebs is in a “gas room” at the naval base but I can’t find that. Are people confusing naval BASE with naval BUNKER I wonder? Is it down the bunker in fact?

Yes, it’s in the bunker. Not on the base outside.
It’s in the bunker in the room filled with gas. As you enter the room, it’s on a picnic table to the left of the doorway you came in through.
