Recently I’ve been having trouble having my save constantly seem to restart if I play for too long. It’s a bit strange to describe, but my save data doesn’t say it’s corrupt, but at the same time if I play and progress just a little bit into the story with either the base game or the DLC stories, I’ll start to have some visual issues with the gun and character models in the menu (either being zoomed too close in between the character’s feet, or at the bottom of the gun) and that’s when I know the save is messed up.
When I do restart it I’m greeted with the end user agreement, and after I accept, my data is completely deleted and I have to start over even with the menu settings: game, audio, controller sensitivity, and screen boundaries.
Luckily I have made plenty of backups of my saves, but I cannot progress further unless I get lucky and back it up after just 10-15 minutes. I’m currently playing on my fourth character and only was able to progress up to the Farmlands Region and get the bunker there (after some luck), and I’m currently at the Boo Church, and if I do anything else, the save will eventually mess up.
I noticed it started after the machine companion update, before that I never had any issues, aside form the occasional crash, and even if the save would corrupt, it would always restore just fine, but since that update I am getting this issue non stop.
I play on a PS4 Pro, and currently I don’t have PS+ but I can back it up with a flash drive and store the saves on my laptop.
