Because they are “smarter” they should try to flee when are really damaged.
This would only work if machines have the sense of self-preservation. But since they don’t, they won’t run away.
Moreover, machines with AoE attacks (e.g missile pods, mortars) doesn’t care at all if another machine is in the blast radius. And machines doesn’t hold their fire if another machine blocks their line of fire.
Machines have one purpose: seek and destroy, regardless the cost.
Actually… I’ve seen Tanks do this. When severely damaged, they’ve begun to walk away from combat.
Of course they never make it far. But it’s happened often enough that I don’t think it’s a coindicence.
When to think about it, i’ve seen harvs do the same. Though, runners and hunters almost never run away. Only rarely i’ve seen runner leg it.
Just yesterday i was fighting an apoco tank at tambdoka skans (I’m horrible at places names) And suddenly he just did his charge attack away then he died to 1 pvg shot weird?
Ive noticed it on runners and hunters too
Its like they have a small amount of self preservation like they want to get information on this encounter to FNIX so it can learn and adapt to beat us next time.
