So, Gen Zero is just going to stay broken. Awesome

FMTEL is broken. The missions are all one point, leaving a maximum of 21/36 points required for Tank rewards. This is an issue (regardless of whether Madboi thinks it is or not). It also screws up the deployment rate of target machines, making them difficult to find, particularly in multiplayer games, where everyone needs to get some.

Multiplayer has some serious problems with connectivity, frame rates when using certain weapons and augments, and stability when claiming bases during a session. Yes, the game still crashes to desktop if you claim a new base in a multiplayer game, possibly causing all the players in that game to CTD, too.

I’m not updating the wiki with these because no one seems to have done anything with the wiki in over a year and a half. I’m just disappointed with a company that isn’t leaving the game in a playable state before abandoning it in the wilderness. Hansel and Gretel’s parents would be proud.

Yes, I personally don’t care much about fmtel.
It’s been broken since almost forever somehow and the rewards don’t grow with the players progress (lvl) but just with the time invested into it.
Now even this is useless.
And that’s a shame. One of the greatest issues of this game, that fortunatly can be ignored by players like me, but shouldn’t be ignored by the devs… Because there are players, who can’t ignore it and need it to have at least one reason to play on and don’t get bored. And that shouldn’t be the intention of a company.

Edit:
Checked it on PS5 now, too.
Easy, medium, hard… 3 Points in total, half a Tick lvl.

I hope they will eventually fix their own mess, because with all due respect, most things were working fine till they decided to impose new game mechanics and a new update.
FMTEL worked fine, throwables and companion worked fine, multiplayer had its issues but it was “Ok”.
Had they decided in November to just say " Ok guys we re sorry but there wont be any more updates"
We would be sad, others angry, but AT LEAST the game would be in an OK STATE it was mostly sound bugs, some random rare crashes and the usual visual bugs including a decrease in performance to 2023.
But now there are new issues besides those as we already know.

So, i hope in the following months they will fix the new mess their new update brought up.

They have not been able to fix their own mess for years now so I doubt that will change since they have announced they had stopped development for this game. Whatever fixing they will do on the third hot fix, if there will ever be one, is just to fix the bugs which the Showdown update and their two hot fixes had introduced.

Actually they fixed most of the stuff, the only thing that remains from the first years are the ghost machine sounds, some ocasional multiplayer issue and the inconstant framerate.

Maybe they are only the bugs affecting you so far but there are others who are affected by different types of bugs like infinite base defense, disappearing companion, 1 point fmtel reward, fast travel crash, floating objects like the lynxes, spatial frame rate drops and many more.

I think it’s not related to whether you did a base defense or not.
I think with the new base defense system the bases became something like a beacon for the machines, so that machines in a certain radius just approach them.

Yesterday (and the last few sessions, too) I didn’t do any base defense, but my Guldängen outpost was attacked by two firebirds and hordes of Lynx and runners again and again.

Another real issue which I have at least since showdown update is that sometimes when I fight a firebird my camera starts stuttering for a few seconds. There is no lag or FPS drop, just the camera that stutters. Yesterday I also noticed something similar with the sound, but regarding that it could also be an issue with my headphones.

Maybe but I don’t think that was intended for the base defense. They have their own grid that is supposed to keep base defense bots inside and non-base defense bots outside safe distance. This rule has been deteriorating until Showdown update totally broke the grid rule,

I’d say there is no difference any more.
There aren’t base defense attack wave machines like it was before.
Yes, there are still machines that just spawn nearby when you start a base defense, but they don’t have a target icon.

You don’t have to destroy all those machines to win, or to start the next wave as it was before. You just have to fight until the countdown is over.

The bases became a beacon and all nearby machines in a certain radius approach it. As the bases are legal targets for the machines, they start attacking them, no matter where they come from.

I just try to explain my point of view how it works.

I know you’re just explaining your point, just as I am explaining mine.

Yeah, that thing with the Firebird, I also had notice, that the camera randomly shakes… first I thought because the Firebird shoot on my base… but then I notice, in the second it shakes… the firebird were not shooting.

The broken Fmtel missions making Tank tier unreachable is my biggest gripe most likely. I suppose I could just ignore it but that’s hard when it so recently worked. The reliably unreliable companion is right in there as well. Actually when this bug hits me I’ve noticed, most deployed items, and throwables vanish as well. This does compromise a lot of the game or force you to restart every 20mins to 1hr.
I really hope they do patch the patches. A very minor gripe is their making the Fmtel missions reset at local time rather than GMT. That’s more personal preference though. I also feel like the refresh of spawns and containers has gotten very janky.

Dude…i mentioned every single one of those in the topic about the ISSUES.
Only fast travel crash has not been mentioned because no one said it had issues about that lately.
The other problems you mentioned are all from the LAST UPDATE, none from before December.
This is general discussion, its been reported including by myself and others at the Support and bug reports Topic.

Sounds brutal as you see it and I, who played from the beginning, cannot agree with what you claim.

We have bugs now and Yes, far too many for it to be acceptable. And we’ve also had periods when most things have worked for the vast majority both in solo and co-op.

One thing that is often overlooked is that more platforms have been added from PC alone. On PC, there is always someone with a real potatoes for a computer who is still thinking about upgrading to Windows 7 and has no idea what SSD means.

But when there are several of us who are still active reporting the same error regardless of whether it is one and the same platform or across all of them. Then it’s more or less a confirmed bug. Sometimes a bug that would been detected with proper tests and which should never have been included in the update if they were done.

But… almost ashamed to write it. I had e.g. friends who complain about lag and bad hitboxes in fps multiplayer, who play connected on older wifi standards… Or when games that clearly says today in minimum specs is “SSD” and still “someone” uses spining rust as main drive…
And whining about “the game” works poorly! :person_facepalming:

That’s not bugs, it’s just stupidity and incompetence to understand their side of the responsibility to make the best conditions for it to work.

At this part I believe that many bugs may have been detected, but just weren’t set to high priority. “Not game breaking, maybe we can fix it later”. You often see them under “known issues”… But of course not all of them, like they never listed all of the fixed bugs as “the list would have been too long”.

Who knows… It is what it is.

No, it isn’t. It’s not it is what it is. It is something very specific. It’s a game that they broke with a “final” update and then abandoned. It’s an almost spiteful “why is anyone still playing this” from the developers. They gave us a half-baked final chapter and said turn off the lights when you stop playing. I, for one, want to keep playing, but the broken state this is in is completely unacceptable. We deserve better than the way they’re fobbing this off like it’s not their problem anymore. This game deserves better.

It certainly doesn’t deserve the mealymouthed “It is what it is” apologetics from someone who doesn’t care if the game is playable because he doesn’t play it much anyway. Feel free to keep your casual BS out of this thread. We have genuine concerns and we don’t want to hear your corporate pandering. All you’ve done since the game ended is tell everyone how you don’t care about their concerns since that’s not how you play the game. We get it. You don’t care. Could you not care someplace quiet in a corner and let the adults talk for a bit?

And still it is what it is.
The game has too many issues.
They fixed bugs, added new features, there came new bugs, but they still released it, tested or not.
What will you do with that?

All we can do is to report these issues, accept the current state of the game and play on. There won’t follow great updates that will totally change the game to your demands. Or mine.
If that’s unacceptable, take the consequences, cut the umbilical cord and move on.

There is no reason to cry “but I want to” or to insult anyone for having an (maybe different) opinion. Find a way that it’s playable for you, report what you notice and play or let it be.

@Zesiir you may remove my post if it’s too offtopic.
