Although game is great it lacks certain aspects that I believe would make it sooo much better
-robot companion , a mini robot like a runner type that follows ya around helps ya fight and copied your movements like if ya sneak it does same
, a seeker buddy same as runner but flys with ya and alarts ya of nearby units (maybe highlights them for ya and nearby loot )
,
robot /mech armour with upgrade options , more robotic then the exo
Also add experimental variants to the loot pool
human patrols that go from bunker to bunker (once ya have all bunkers unlocked )
-guass , static , type weapons in loot pool
-expand on perks in skill tree
Engineer (deals added emp attacks to machines , with % chance )
There isn’t much I agree with. Companions might be a cool feature, but I don’t think that that’s the game for it.
This game is intended to be played as a group of four teenagers. A cooperative experience of being inferior. You are the resistance. You fight the machines. Would be a bit weird if you would let do the work by companion machines. It’s the challenge that you are on your own (counts also for a small group).
Exo suits:
Like you said, there already are exo suits. But I agree that special apparel should also grant some special abilities, skills or features/characteristics.
The way you describe it could be too much, in my eyes.
The immersion somehow would strive away too much if we would become super soldiers not just in definition because of what we do, but also because of how we look like, which weapons and equipment we use and which skills we have.
It’s a survival shooter, no arcade horde shooter, even if it feels more and more like the last due to the last updates in the last about 16 months.
that would indeed be great. Some more immersion, some more living. The feeling of really being needed to help other humen.
Skill tree:
Yes, I agree that it needs a major revamp. It’s, at least from my experience, the last thing that never was touched. Well, except the mountain region maybe.
There should already be multiple topics covering suggestions for new skills or skill trees.
I was literally discussing in great detail in my normal fireteam on gen zero how it go and be implemented and how it would work along side without much issue it difficulty
But yeah immursive stuff really would bring this game more life and to others aswell
no need for a mech suit
Having human NPC:s just traveling around whould make the world feel less dangerous, in the story humans are currently hiding from the machines.
No zombies, no dinosaurs, no aliens and no flying sharks or giant ants.
GZ is what it is. Survivors against machines.
But… I once wrote about it… What about soviet exo suits controlled by soviet AI, with dead bodies inside? It’s almost like zombies, but can be knocked down with an emp or a shot or a smash in the back, instead of just into the head
maybe, but then they should maybe be only 4 of them. It could work if we start with finding reports from patrols of strange soviet soldiers roaming a special area were we the player then need to go out to find and eliminate them. The exosuits should be big and bulky and heavy, making them hard targets. Having to find them yourself also increases the fear factor.
Yes, no hordes, maybe maximum 4 at a time.
But imagine a large underground area at Norrmyra which got infiltrated by soviet soldiers. Then they got killed, either by fnix or the soviet AI. When you enter the complex you’ll meet these dead soldiers and those with exo suits may walk around and attack you.
Dimmed light or flickering red lights, power offs, sparkling cables… All these nice lighting effects that would make it a frightening experience.
Yeah i think that a stranger things like quest could be good, where we first get pictures and reports on something lurking in the woods that whould later lead us to norrmyra.
Love the idea of the robot companion. I thought about that when I first started playing and wondering why, if we could hack the robots, they didn’t give us a way to make it permanent and make a runner into a pet. They missed out on a lot of cosmetics they could put in for that cause who wouldn’t want to customize their dogbot? I admit I didn’t think about seekers. We ruled out ticks pretty fast in my group.
Human patrols in the game, like the robot ones, that could also enter into your battles, but as a nice surprise for you instead of a “oh, s**, adds!” surprise. Thought about that, too. The world needs to feel more alive. Wouldn’t need to be bunker to bunker, though. More like Resistance base to Resistance Base. Maybe add in the Bunkers. Or have the Resistance start converting the bunkers into refuge centers once you unlock them, posting guards, people using the residential rooms, etc. It would add a lot of atmosphere to certain locations.
There is a Gauss weapon in the loot pool. The PVG90 has a Rail Gun upgraded Rank6 (Experimetal) variant. It fires faster giving it a little more range (out to the limit of your draw distance) and has less dropoff than the normal version. Drops of Rivals after Level 25, and can drop from Reapers if you know how to unlock them.
We need more points. Yes, that makes us even more powerful, but honestly, it would be nice to create some more intense builds. Even 5 points would be a big step forward.
Hacker needs to be able to hack bots and make them your pets. The engineering tree should give you tick pods earlier, and then do something with them special once you unlock the specialization. I like the state of the Sniper tree, but the Commander tree needs something more. 6 uses of a field radio is kinda meh as far as abilities go for someone commanding a group. Maybe give them a permanent highlight when they mark targets or something, but have the bonus damage expire after 30s/1m. Most of the trees could use some work.
Again, welcome to the forums. Keep up with the ideas.
Actually, we do. Several types. There are EMP rockets and grenades for several of the launchers, both direct fire and indirect fire, and the Small and Medium EMP Devices can be thrown like Grenades and equipped to your quick ring.
But, as I said above, the PVG90 Rank6 is listed as a Gauss weapon, though it really only gives more range and less dropoff over distance.
Oh, and Radioactive rounds make robots blind for a short time. Useful on tanks and harvesters as they stop being able to target you with missile volleys, but overall just make runners and hunters get the zoomies, which as a Sniper, I hate fast moving targets.
Groups already come in upwards of 8. Overby Air Base routinely has patrols of 5-7 Hunters and Runner escorts. Rivals routinely have packs of 4 or more. And Balders Vall in the Forest region is routinely populated by packs of 8-12, including Tanks and Harvesters. And the field north of the Ring Fort in the Farmlands has variable groups of up to twenty if you have a bad pull. I recommend the Lightning Gun (Rank6 KVM59) for buses and larger parties.
But we don’t have a gauss gun.
The 6c PVG is a railgun, as far as I know.
Ingame I didn’t find any clear hint, but the wiki calls it railgun, which is a difference. (electromagnetic rails instead of spools)
The part about “no hordes” was about possible zombi-like dead soldiers in AI controlled exosuits in a dark underground area.
