@Madchaser, your input on game mechanics, combat, weaponry, and technical stuff was wonderful to see. Especially your drive to help others with the game, I really admired.

I too hope that we can save the GZ-spirit, we need people who are willing to commit, be there for others, make time to chat. Only then our place can survive. It might not be that much GZ- related in the end, but the people are bound by that game. So I hope more people will actually start participating. :rocket:

We need Ianforce’s easy and poetic way to start new topics, and his easy-going way to get people to join. We need young people with a totally different look at the world. We need the Vynim’s of the world, who are strong when the going gets touch.

WE need the old garde, like Saddletanks, Helldivers and Vati’s, to join me on a park bench and gossip about the people passing by.

There are so many people who made this place a daily haven, but I can’t name them all. You know who you are.

Does anyone want to throw up a game we can connect to and game for a bit. No need to talk if you don’t feel like it, just everyone jump on a game and blow up some bots for a bit.

It would be an absolute honour to fight alongside you, sir! I’m on Xbox is that a platform you can join me on?

That would have been super. And also a first for me. I’ve only played solo. It’s probably why the game always behaved quite well for me. So I’ve missed that aspect of the game entirely. In a way I kind of regret never getting into teamplay. But for me the GZ univers was much of an “all alone in the world” experience that really appealed to me.

I’m sure I would have enjoyed playing with you guys.

And not to forget my new found friend Timmo, a British Explorer extraordinair, with who I went on fantastic journeys you can read about, on the Greetings from Östertörn server. I lured him with my map to the forum, made him fly a Twin Huey, all the way to uncharted areas to find evidence of a lost nordic civilisation. Set foot on dragon infested islands, and much more.

Who would have thought that the Covid era could bring two like-minded souls together. Explorers, even beyond the radar. :helicopter:

I have a busy day tomorrow so I’ll be turning in now. Might check in to see if we’ll get a farewell message from Systemic Reaction before they pull the plug at 11:00. Take care guys, and long live the resistance :fist_right::fist_left:

Ian signing out.

Thanks for organising everything, buddy! It was a tremendous farewell, and I’ve loved every minute of being here. I’m online right now with @Vynym , so it feels fitting that we’re all sticking together as a community as the forum closes. All my best to you!

Mate, that means a lot. Who’d have thought a couple of random explorers during the Covid days would end up charting half of Östertörn together? Charting new places on the Gysbert map to that legendary Twin Huey flight into ‘there may be dragons’territory, it’s been one hell of a ride.

Wouldn’t trade those adventures for anything, all the places we definitely weren’t supposed to land. Here’s to many more journeys beyond the radar, my friend!

Hello @Gysbert staying here enjoying a cool Reissdorf Kölsch and listen. It’s like sitting on a park bench and watching the passers by.

I did this many years ago in Workum. There is a restaurant at the haven. We had rent a ship for rambling round on the Ijsselmeer our next step in the next mornig was driving through the Ijsselmeer to Lemmer. We ask the barkeeper that we could make some music and we where allowed to it. My late friend had a Akkordeon to this time. We startet to play and within an hour the restaurant was full of people. I had drank many Heiniken Beers and as we got out the bar at 3:00 in the night. I asked the barkeeper what i had to pay for my drinks and he replied . You dont’t have to pay something all is payed. This night i remember it since today.
