The Final Showdown Update (12th dec) - rumours and discussion (wiki)

What in that picture looks like a Christmas tree?

I did not notice it at first but the update will redo practically the whole DLC island 4, which is very exciting. The one shown here does not exist in the present time. The boat is approaching on the right tip of the island.

How it presently look approaching the island from the right tip side…

Looking at the red-dotted map, the island will have an entry from the sea on the north and east sides, possibly a river, which do not exist at the moment. The overall shape is also clearly different.

I would even assume a naval base there.
Good finding!

A naval base will be a very very very nice addition to the game.

Today the target page changed to…

Reading the topic “Interesting Migration” about Tyrants migrating to other areas where they can’t be spawned, made me think if it would be wise to kill at least the Vulture before Showdown update is released, to make sure that the Vulture is not “spoiling” the Showdown Missions. I have a Reaper in the Forest Region, but I think that far enough away to not spoil the mission experience. :coffee:

If the map, with the 10 red dots on it, are areas we must go to as part of the showdown, you may run into all kinds of machines and bosses along the way. And don’t forget all the fnix bases that will also be in your path.

Could do a back up save with and without before the update and then go back and try each to see which one you like more.

O, I am surely going to make a backup from before the showdown mission starts, because I expect that some areas during those missions might not be accessible afterwards. So I like to be able to do the mission again and again.

But I meant that the Vulture is rather aggressive, and much harder to avoid then the normal Rivals or machines. I like to be able to explore the world in peace. I fought him plenty of times. I left him in the Marshlands when I closed GZ. I will see tomorrow if he is still there or if he went back to the farmlands.

But now I going back into the Stalker wasteland for a few hours be stealthy like a :ninja:.

Here a good look at the 3 new experimental weapons. ( I added pic to wiki @Madchaser)

  • Any Ammo AI76
  • Sjökvist Semi-Auto
  • Smart Gun HP5

They look pretty nice, I’m saving the vulture and the reaper on my map and waiting to kill them until after the update so I might have a chance at getting at least one of them immediately

Are they only dropping from Tyrants? Good point if that is so. I better rethink my idea to kill the vulture before the update. :coffee:

Someone on discord (was it even Carni himself?) advised to stock up rivals and tyrants to get the weapons as fast as possible.

I don’t think they are supposed to only drop from tyrants, at least as far as I know lol, but I would save it until after just because the tyrants have a higher experimental chance

Do you know if Carni said anything about plans for the Prestige Points? Or will they still be left unusable?

I’m really curious about the «Any ammo AI-76».
Can it really be that you can simply pop in a full 46 round magazine with 12 ga. Buckshot or .50 BMG and go fully berserk??
If so, that would be an insanely overpowered weapon, and would render a lot of the other weapons obsolete…
There has to be some major drawback, right?
What do you guys think?
