The Unnamed FNIX structures on Aspholmen

On Aspholmen we find a lot unexplained structures that not always are too clear as what their purpose would have been. For me, I have more questions than that were answered. As an example a screenshot of one such structure.

In this topic we can try to come up with reasonable answers for a couple of unexplained FNIX structures

So…what do you think this was before entropy took a hold of it?

I saw it! Very, very cool. Did you find the FNIX base nearby? It looks a bit unfinished with only 2 turrets. But very cool too.

Yes I found that too.

So any any what these 3 disks were before they were damaged?
Solar panels?

How about this structure. It seems that it was a platform or roof, hanging with steel cables from the rock walls. What do you think this was?

The purpose of this topic was to get some reactions to what that you all think what these structures are, since these didn’t get an icon and /or a name like we had in the South Coast region. :coffee:

Anyway, here’s another structure that you might have ideas on. My first thought was that it was a like a splitter of the power cables.

Was thinking about a suspension bridge when I was there. Or some sort of lift going sideways over that canyon?
Did take the very dangerous and deadly way down from the machine structure above next to the road.
Got the idea it could been one connection point for it.

The square platform seems to small to reach each of the sides of the cliff for easy traversing.
That’s why I thought that it could be a roof. I only could not see the benefit for a hanging roof.

I honestly dont understand why they put something like this in the game without any kind of explanation.
Considering, even if we get some patch, this was the Last Update.
And there isnt even any kind of GZ2 in development so why give us a “taste” of how more interesting the game could have been?
Even without the other 2 islands, there was a lot of stuff to add and to fix in the known areas.
New structures, improved areas, (no Mountain revamp), Marshlands and North Coast seem half revamped.
Some new enemies
And a lot of improvements.
The game needed another year for that.

And yes, this is a bit of topic…
To prevent that, it is my theory that round structure from the first comment was some sort of data link to a satelite, or at least Fnix tried.

I was thinking that these dishes were part of the Swedish Space Program, and that they were indeed some sort of telemetry dishes, but were destroyed during the fights between the Swedish military and FNIX forces.

But at closer inspection, the dish panels seem to have hinges, as if this originally could be closed into a ball-ish shape. Like the container wherein to Sojourner landed on Mars. Or it could be solar panels that remotely could be adjusted towards the sun, but the surface doesn’t seem like solar cells.

I was there yesterday, too.
Idk. Looks like a platform to elevate something. On the other hand it doesn’t seem to make much sense there.

I wanted to discuss these unnamed structures to see what reasonable name we can up with for each of these strange sites.

So how about this structure below (I called it Power Hub). Conduits for power cables going into a big hole in the ground. It’s close to Kraftverk industrial area, so power could be coming from there or visa versa. What do you think?

And then this spot just before “Örnbo Bridge” west of the launch site, I just called it checkpoint, but there is nothing but 2 vaults, no machines guarding. It’s no roadblock, because not really obstructed.

Any name suggestions?

That the hole is deadly and don’t hold any secrets down there!
The Work Environment Regulations regarding warning signs and barriers have clearly not been followed. I know from own experience…
And got teleported up on the edge of the hole to just fall down again. :joy:

Seriously, “Power Hub” sounds perfect!
