Third person view

I think one of the greatest aspects of the game are all the clothing and cosmetic options for the characters, and open to possibilities of expansion and DLCs, but I feel all that isnt really appreciated unless we get the option to have a third person view. Sure, other people see it but honestly I don’t think anyone gives a f*** about other players characters, customization is for ourselves, it would be nice to have the option to see my character in third person, I think seeing how they shoot/hide/run be really cool

One of the many great things about this game is, that it is First Person. I really think that Third Person would ruin it for me. But I appreciate that you suggest it as an option. I would rather have working mirrors. It is weird that the mirrors in the game doesn’t reflect “reality”. I often need to adjust my hair … how do I do that? :wink:

In the latest dev stream, someone did ask that and Paul (the boss man) said that it would be hard to implement with little benefit compared to the manpower needed to make it happen.
Or when to put it shortly: doesn’t happen.

I would rather play in 1st person myself but I wouldn’t mind having the option. It jumps to 3rd person on bikes and during emotes so it would seem to be possible. You cant shoot in those situations so I get that they would have to make some adjustments. Sounds like the devs dont think the payoff would be worth the work for now though. I’d rather they focused on other features anyway

Hey. I know this is an old topic but rather than raising yet another thread on the subject I’d like to argue in favour of an optional 3rd person view. As has been mentioned, the cosmetic options are pretty pointless without this feature. Also, when aiming down sights or binoculars the mode obviously has to switch back to 1st person. But that is no different from so many other games.

I agree, of course, with the devs. It’s not an easy thing to do and the animations would have to be looked at again but you know what? Those animations should be revisited anyway because they are pretty awful if I’m honest. Even seeing your teammates run makes me cringe a bit and the facial expressions when trying to make a character smile in an emote is just pure scary. Surely there are batter ways of animating both characters and faces. Alternatively, if the face animations can’t be improved, just leave the faces deadpan.

Speaking of faces, some more makeup options might be worth considering, like both eyeliner and lipstick rather than choosing which. We got teenage moushache and stubble options but only one colour. Why does my ginger Shaggy have black stubble?
