I have been playing the game for a while and don’t have time to explore the beginning island again. Here you can post all of your thoughts and opinions here.
Too many hunters, too many ticks, and a massive shortage of ammo and medkits. Right now it’s a surefire way to get new players to ragequit and never come back.
The scenes you can find are absolutely awesome. It’s something I actually proposed early on and am super glad to see, keeping up the eerie and creepy atmosphere you get when entering the first house. And there’s really a LOT that has been changed to the better in the environment. Makes the game so much more lively
Absolutely, I damn near rage quit last night trying out this starting area, and I have my main account game almost half way through the game, yet even that feels easier than the starting island.
I’m currently of the opinion that it has been balanced for Co-Op play as that was the original intent of the game.
Perhaps the number of dedicated solo players (the majority of people posting seem to be solo players) was simply underestimated.
I liked the fact that the game didn’t have the opposition scaled back for solo players, but perhaps there is a need to have slightly different game modes for single and co-op play.
If the unnecessary death syndrome (killed through walls etc) was gotten rid of I would be happy with the difficulty levels being raised (a bit) for single players.
But I personally feel it is too early to deliberately make the game harder when there is a lot of unintended difficulty already in place.
When you look up the game it states that you can play it solo, but they have made it very hard for solo players. There has to be some kind of balance put into play. Maybe different difficulties or something. The intro island is crazy hard. I dont understand why they changed it to be so hard starting out. Then you have
the ammo problem of not being enough. I’m seeing people running out of ammo in the beginning and become stuck because of the increase in enemies and lack of ammo showing up in containers.
I still like the game, but there are so many people rage quiting the game in the beginning that they wont get far enough to get better weapons and more ammo to enjoy the game. The intro island needs to be toned down some. It’s just crazy hard especially for solo play. If they intend to continue to make the other islands as hard as the intro island then they need to change being able to play solo all together, because it’s so frustrating now to play solo.
I’m a solo player and it was so much more doable before they made these changes. Hopefully they will make some more balance changes either by reducing enemies or increase damage delt to enemies and by increasing ammo in containers. I know the explosive damage is really messed up and the containers like tools boxes not having any loot in them is a problem that just adds to the already difficult spike that was added in the last update. It’s going to be a great game with just a few more adjustments made so thank you developers for your hard work and keep on supporting the game because you all are almost there.
hello, I play solo, this is the third time I do the first island, and I think this is a good update, balance is good for me, yes there is more robots, but in the same time more ammo and weapons, and you must use all the items to distract the robots and use your environment to fight… Or run away
I love the new détails, with stories by exemple, i’ve find a plane and nobody was inside, but you can see some blood on the ground and if you follow the blood you can find the pilot… Exploration is more important now,
More détails in firecamps, more détails everywhere, dead officer in police car, same thing with army…
Good thing too, the lootbox don’t respawn everytime, and we don’t need to find all of them to complete an area, just have to find weapons and missions
Some bugs are gone, but New ones appears… But I trust the devs to solved that…
Ho and avalanche studio, this is YOUR game, YOUR story, YOUR vision,and we need to respect that, don’t always listen the players.

What is the purpose of looking for these touted stories? When you found the pilot from the plane did you find a new weapon or gadget? I’m all for good stories but I also like to be rewarded for going off the beaten path. This game was built for co-op where these coop players are saying the game is too easy and us solo players are now saying it’s too hard. Why could they not balance the game depending on the amount of players like hundreds of games have done before? It may not look like it but I have a lot of passion for this game because I can see massive potential.
personally i found the starter island more atmospheric than any other part of the game , ( except maybe the factory ). looking off the balcony at the cop car was awesome, and slowly approaching and not knowing how much danger there was , this was great. after the first church , the atmosphere gets lost, it loses the horror sci-fi that i really wanted in this game. becomes more of just a shooter. it is much better with more detail (starter island) , but i would love the scary horror sci-fi aspect to be spread more across the entire game.
That’s EXACTLY what I also thought. The game still creeps me out, but it’s not quite the same atmosphere. The starting island revamp is just the beginning of a major overhaul of the map to bring us impressive scenes more frequently
