Tradable Clothing

@Xeviar touched on this idea and I would like to add to it.

Trading weapons and items really adds to making this game feel cooperative, as if you really need your teammates support against the robot invasion.

Wouldn’t it make sense then to (literally) give the shirt off your back to help a teammate in need?

Especially with the new crafting system rolling out and adding bonuses to clothing items, this would make cooperative play that much more immersive.

Let me know what you guys think.

Other discussion of trading and my input.
Loosing clothing on trade scams is not great loss. But soon it will be weapons, ammo, etc.

I really advice against any trade systems in game. Because someone always get scammed, and loop of vengeance is ready. And pointless posts in these forums for trade system or “i got scammed” etc.

This is can of worms, and which way it goes is impossible predict.

@Lonewolf Can’t we already give other players “weapons, ammo, etc” without issue? I mean, that’s literally why the ability to split ammo stacks was added. At least, I’m not really seeing any “I got scammed” posts in the forums here or on Steam.

I’m not sure the system supports trading apparel in the way we’re used to anyway, because they aren’t actual objects and rather just a list, but your response seems to be a dismissive post that is assuming bad things are going to happen that current gameplay doesn’t indicate is happening right now in any meaningful way.

Dropping stuff to other players is ok, and if you do it totally with your own risk. And accept the consequences of being scammed.

Apparel as items might have some problems, now they are just like non physical objects you collect.
Making them all objects with visuals and adding them to table of items might be huge job.

Sure would be nice if you can craft modification to clothing and then give it your friend.

That would make sense only when there is critical need of having clothing (e.g like in Rust, DayZ or 7 Days to Die). Currently, clothing is just visual eyecandy and while clothing crafting does give tiny bonus to the apparel, it’s negligible in current state of the game. Also, you can’t strip your char butt naked for the literal meaning of “give the shirt off your back”.
