It’s a shame that the GZ forum is being closed and deleted. There’s a lot of information here that new players need or should know if they get stuck somewhere or if the game has bugs, and how to solve or work around some of them.

Dear Systemic Reaction, dear Generation Zero Team, dear moderators, dear community! Thank you all so much for this fantastic game and this magnificent forum. I’ve just been on a weeks vacation in Wales and when I tried to check in from there, the forum had gone from the homepage navigation menu. While backwaters UK (Mon& Brec) is intoxicatingly beautiful, it isn’t exactly on the broadest bus on the Internet, so I thought it was an island thing … but no. Now back on the continent I just figured out, that we have now reached the end of the journey. Obviously I feel both sad and sentimental.
There is so much to say, but I’ll keep it short. I had a hell of a good time playing the game and making friends here. To all involved I really appreciate you all, what you created, what you contributed, and all the fun we had. Unfortunately, there will always be those who wants to destroy. Naïvely I believe that when you choose that path, you will attract others with the same inclination to destroy. In the long run, that will make your life miserable and hollow. So let us continue to build. Build friendships. Create art. Construct in the service of humanity. Fight injustice. Spread love. And have fun

Wouldn’t it be possible to get a dump of the forum’s final state and make it available from Discord? It’s on the Wayback Machine currently, but the layout is stripped down, there’s no search function and most of the images are missing, so it won’t be easy to navigate.
In these final days of the forum, I would like to give a final salute to user @DeadWanderer 
When Russia began their war in february 2022, he logged off indefinitely to go help defend his country, Ukraine. Nobody here has heard from him since, as far as I know.
I sometimes think about what happened to him. If he’s alive somewhere, or if he is among the fallen heroes.
While we sit here comfortably, fighting an assault of spambots, @DeadWanderer has defended Europe’s freedom from the hordes of an agressor tyrant, risking or giving his life to do so.

I had to fight spambots on a forum for a few years. It’s terrible.
But… not a reason to end a forum. Sad.
I bet it sucks, but it pales in comparison to fighting in a real war, as one of the users on this forum has had to do…
As for the forum, sure it’s sad. But the glory days of both the forum and the game are long passed, I’m afraid. The activity in here is probably way too low to use manpower on managing it.

There is no more development and no more support for the game. So why should they still invest time and money into a platform, that isn’t needed any more.
The community? Well, I guess there are more users that follow the discord channel than here in the forums.
It’s not worth the effort.
And for those of us, that are still active here and maybe don’t want to join a chatting group of thousands of members, I started an own discord channel.
Well, at first it was thought as place to continue our own challenges like “guess where it is”, but due to a busy gysbert and many others, there already are plenty of informations, extracted from here and there…
@Asphodelus, dear Harold, it would be nice to meet you there, too.

@NJR87 and @Mr_A1992 i also often think on @DeadWanderer and how he would do. I pray for him that he is alive. And if he is one of the fallen soldiers, then i will salut to him. My thanks goes to his familiy and to him. He defended not only his own country . He defendet Europe
