I’ve been noticing a lot of performance problems related to firing weapons in the game so I made a video about it. Long story short, game FPS drops between 20 and even 80 FPS when firing weapons and most of the FPS drop happens when firing with augmentation of Unstoppable Shells. Please watch the video as I demonstrate the FPS drops using MSI Afterburner stats. Generation Zero - FPS Drop Diagnostics Report (NO MODS) Generation Zero - FPS Drop Diagnostics Report (NO MODS)
PC:
Ryzen 7800X3D
Radeon 6750XT
32Gbs RAM @ 6000mhz AMD EXPO
Western Digital Black 2TB M.2 SSD
MSI B650 Pro + Wifi
I looked at the video, but it seems to me that if you look through a sight there’s a lot less assets/particles to be shown, so the frame rate goes up.
In the same vein but in the other direction, if you shoot with unstoppable bullets there is more particles needed to shown all the hits and breakage, smoke and fire. So the frame rate goes down.
Would you noticed the frame drops while firing without the diagnostics running in the left corner?
The whole reason why I was showing this is because I noticed the game lagging hard when I was shooting at machines. IF you watch the whole video I explained that I installed MSI Afterburner because I suspected FPS dropping. Even without sights when I was hip firing, FPS drop also happened. I just wanted to make note of the scope lag as well being so significant and it wasn’t just the weapon augment, but unstoppable shells just made it worse then it already was.
I wouldn’t really care if the FPS was about 10 or even 15 drop, but most of it was between 40 and even 80 FPS which is massive.
It’s the same as other reportes before. Unstoppable rounds and sparkels just kills the graphics.
Another situation that causes heavy FPS loss is when you destroy a FNIX base and all the walls are demolished. Or during the assult of the base firing a rocket or other explosive into a pile of FNIX devices that spawns machines and the electrical stuff, it will also put a big dent in your FPS.
Really hoping for a real fix for this with the next update.
Yes, unstoppable shells augment is bugged. It’s even worse when used with the RACS-12. I sent in a video about this to the support team back in September. Their response was, they were aware of it and looking into it. So I’m guessing we should see a fix with the new update🤞
Yes but the firing of any ammo on any gun augment or not still reduces FPS, it’s just worse with Unstoppable Shells. This was demonstrated in the video. What ever is causing the issue is related to the bullets being fired period. The extreme lag with the augment is only a symptom.
I didn’t notice FPS drops yesterday.
Played for a few hours.
I’m currently on a hunt for unstoppable shells.
Didn’t use xray view that much yet.
The only situation where the FPS dropped for a short amount of time was when I finished a lvl3 base.
Btw… A very good way to increase the number of destroyed machines with xray view:
Experimental pvg with vision module and augmented rpg7 with vision module against a lvl3 base.
If I go into one of the big battles in the Northern Farmlands, the ones with at least 50+ machines being fighting on any of the fields. With an Exp.Kvm.59, any rocket launcher and any SMG or AR, without Unstoppable rounds but e.g. EMP rounds, I barely get 1 or 2 dropped FPS from my locked 100.
When I instead I take a Kvm.89 or some other high rate of fire AR/SMG and add Unstoppable rounds…
I haven’t crashed, yet! But from the stable 100 FPS locked it instant start going downward to 0 FPS way before the magazine on my Kvm.89 runs out.
And this can be repeated with just a few big machines present too.
Also tested with/without Gsync and with max FPS locked to Hz on the screen (144) and it’s almost the same. Any FPS drop is less then 4-5 and caused of some epic scenery view rotating around fast because all my settings is on absolut max. (And that drop I get after the “memory optimization patch”!!!)
Then I pick up an Unstoppable shell augmented weapon from Plundran…
So no, it’s not “any” weapon or “any” augumentations!
And when my hardware monitoring shows a RTX 3080Ti hardly doing something with large quantity of free GPU and VRAM available for new data, my 7800X3D and SSD and RAM just ideling.
