Sounds like a strange issue indeed. Let’s try to figure it out. After uninstalling the game, did you remove the game folder manually? Might be something in there that’s messing it up.

i did, just in case im going to see again.

I checked again nothing.

It seems to me that this is due to damaged savegame folder (where the settings and so on are stored).

So on your C:-drive, go to C:/Users/yourUserName/Documents/Avalanche Studios/, there you’ll find the folder GenerationZero.

Move this folder to your desktop and try to launch the game again.

If this works, you will be offered to start a fresh new game, do so and play the starting mission untill you spot a save-game-icon, wait until the save is done and shut down your game.
This will create a new savefile, settingsfile and so on.

Now open the old genZero-folder on your desktop, and find the files"savegame" and “savegame.bak”, you’ll need to browse the folder to find them, something like “…/Desktop/generationZero/Saves/numbers/”.

Copy one of these files (savegame.bak needs to be renamed to “savegame”) from your desktop-filder into your newly created savefolder in the Documents-folder, make sure to replace the ( newly created ) savefile thats already there.

Now start the game again to see if your savefile works, if not; try the other savefile from your desktop-folder.

If none of the savefiles work, and the steam cloud save doesnt work eather, then unfortunately you will be forced to start on a fresh save.

Its not that much of an hazzle to “add folder to new.zip” when right-clicking the generation zero save folder and it has saved my sanity more than once.
