“What are the machine design choices based on?”

Dear @Avalanche_Graham, dear GZ Team,
Mini Intro:
I’ve been playing your game for quite some time now, got to experience all the different machine types (not all of their stronger variants but thats not that relevant rn) and while playing the game i’ve had a lot of interesting ideas for new machines and game mechanics go through my mind.

regarding Generation Zero:
So far we got to see a variety of machine types to play against which bring their unique challenges and require different tactics to fight against. Some of them seem to share certain aspects such as having melee and ranged attacks, carrying fuel cells of various sizes and getting slower as they increase in size.
However, there are still a couple of things left open for discussion such as:

open questions:

  • Are flying enemies planned for the game?
  • Are tanks going to be the biggest enemies in the game, or is there room for even larger enemies?
  • Is the weaponry used for machines limited to ballistic weapons and missiles, or are you also considering to add energy weapons, emps etc.?
  • Do the weakest types of enemies always have to be orange?
  • Do machines share the same colors as they get more difficult?
  • Are you planning to allow machines like “dogs” and hunters to enter buildings?
  • Are the larger machines going to be able to destroy buildings?
  • Are there going to be friendly / malfunctioning machines?
    and probably much more

Design Styleguide?
As you guys are probably extremely busy with working on the game, and ideas are sometimes hard to get by, i figured it’d be an amazing idea to involve the community. This could be done by allowing them to submit their own ideas with the help of a Guide / Rules / go’s and No go’s provided by the devs.

Of course nobody can promise that every idea submitted by the community is going to be made, in fact, its likely for most ideas to be declined simply because they dont fit into the game however it would still be very amazing to see some of the communities ideas, even if only partially, to be implemented into the game!
