What does Tank Vision Module do?

I got the Tank Vision Module during the first mission of Fnix Rising but it disappeared in the process of completing the mission and never had a chance of actually seeing what it does. Can I farm it by killing Fnix tanks?

Technically, it should still be “in your inventory,” in the log page. But, as mentioned, it’s a quest item, not an attachment.
