What makes you think there are mods for melee weapons?
All other weapons have mods.

M/49 doesn’t have any weapon attachment, yet, it’s been in the game since launch. So, there’s that.

I can only think about weapon modifications as in zombie games, you know…(Dead island, Dying light).
Most of them would not be useful against reinforced metal though
Funnily enough this actually came up in the live stream 2 back - thing is, how far can you go with a Swedish Bat? Nails / Barbed wire maybe…but that’s not GenZ
Sledgehammer could have an emp attachment that stuns additional enemies on one hit kills…Experimental versions I think would be the only way - and it would probably be the sledgehammer if any.
I can guarantee one thing though, my experimental weapon will be ready before they release a new one.

I think some mods for melee weapons could make sense. Drive a few Tungsten nails through the brännboll bat, and now you’ve got bonus damage against armour. Charge the sledgehammer with an EMP battery, so you can stun enemies. Modify the brännboll bat with Aluminium to make it lighter, so you can swing it faster, and so on
How does anybody mod a rocket launcher?
Same way as modding melee weapons. You’ll need someone with imaginative thinking.
Well, I can think of speciall skill “Brannbolling” for bat - alternative to throwing. You “attach” some small consumable, and then with an alternative attack you send it flying with high velocity. Accuracy and range are directly tied to base throwing and it’s related skills. Due to higher velocity, arc is more flat and because it’s hitting the item, accuracy is halved.
Also, item “Small fuel cell” becomes mechanically “contact grenade”.
Handle would be modded for better grip (stamina and swing speed)
The head is studs, nails, weights: studs shapes bat into Kanabo of sorts. Adds a bit more damage to “detachable” parts (darkened in IR view); Nails - crit hits into internals; weights - adds more chance to stun, slightly adds overall damage with consuming more stamina (quick heavy hits, hammer need time to wind up).
About hammer - “tenderizer”, “horsemans pick” and titanium heads. See studs and nails for bat resp. Titanium head is lighter than steel so less stamina drain/faster attack charge at cost of slightly less damage.
Better rubber grip can slightly add up range.
