Where will GZ go, if you had allsay?

You have been a long time GZ supporter over here.
Any ideas you might want to share?
It would be interesting to read them.

If I had allsay…

I would like for when a new island is opened up, that we backtrack a bit in order to get more answers. You get my meaning? FNIX Rising continues the story forward in real-time. Instead of that, I would like to have a new island where the military has had a strongpoint, and really put up a fight before they were defeated. I imagine going to this island and finding a completely war torn and ruined landscape, with more military installations, and less or no civilians. A truly apocalyptic place with defeated military units, huge blast craters, burnt down forests, and maybe lots of smoke so that visibility is hazy in some places. I picture lots of partially destroyed bunkers and secret facilities, where you must literally do a deep dive into the ruins in search of answers to what the authorities knew about machine apocalypse and what went wrong. Maybe you would also discover an intact bunker where a few military NPC’s have survived. In the end, you would dig up some secret, vital information that could help in defeating FNIX.

With this scenario, a new machine type must be introduced. A machine strong enough to explain the destruction of the landscape, and the bunkers. Something much stronger than a Tank. A real behemoth, 15-20 meters tall on 6 legs, and with 360° weaponry. Make it a rare encounter, like 1 or 2 pr. region. Even experienced players should fear this machine, at least when solo!

And of course, some sweet new weapons for the players to go along!

Tall order? Nah…

@NJR87 You think of a first world war scenario with the bomb crater-strewn battlefields and then you hear a bloodcurdling scream , louder than that of a tank, :grimacing: louder than the scream of 100 hunters. It is the scream of a gigantic beast that peels out of the smoke and the mist, :astonished::astonished::scream::scream:it is the scream of Mechzilla that you suddenly have on your tail and if you are not careful, its blazing beam will hit you and burn you to ashes.

It will take me a while to get everything down, ill follow up in 24 hours after I watch the stream with Pontus & Paul tomorrow.

Today’s stream was probably the best I’ve seen. It was basically @TheVestalViking hosting while @Avalanche_Pontus did his usual. He covered a lot of issues - and fair play for getting in front of the community and dealing with it straight on.

Listening to his mind-set, and now knowing the limitations to the team and what can be achieved - id focus from within. Look at building something into the rivals system, ideally to spawn a new machine. There’s one on Himfjall that springs to mind - I mean, it’s there…use it, give the community what they want.

Story wise, and having consulted Pufty while I made Uncle Calle about the whole Alien theory and FOA53 - aliens are off the table, so a new evolution of machine combined with a parallel story to main game. Something completely knew - like a flying machine of some sort, something else to shoot in the sky.

Events with costumes would be a regular update - some created and designed by the community. Same goes with looking into weapon skins - but as a event item, not a free for all so it keeps its uniqueness - again with input from the community.

Unlawful modifications amount some of the PC community has caused frustration around the skill tree and perks, so level cap to 40 - with the skill points along side for console.

Multiplayer would be set to either a mission based lobby, or kill based lobby. Either go to do missions online, or take down rivals. All lobbies become invite only as standard, you must open your own game. This on the basis of course the the tracking between multiplayer is 100% fixed.

I was expecting a more advanced, expansive and creative suggestion, not something so…Earth to Earth.
But…thinking strictly by the rules and by the data you gathered from various official and non official sources, everything you said makes sense and it´s Highly feasible to implement in a near future.
Although I wanted to know where your imagination begins and ends with GZ, the outcome…is correct, efficient and feasible.
An implementation of such “upgrades” would already be very interesting and refreshing.
Thank you for responding to what I asked for (as you said you would) .

Your welcome mate, I could have gone deep - but we have to manage expectations.

I would like to see some sort of radial menu used for quick slots of inventory items. 4 quick slots is NOT enough for this sort of game and not a good use of the abilities of a console controller or mouse and keyboard.
The game is amazing even it its current state (PS4) and it would be a 8.5 out of 10 with a better menu. Currently, I have to rate it a 7 overall with a 5 for inventory management. It’s that one feature that drags it down massively.
The current system is under-designed for a game that does not pause when you are in the menu and does not take advantage of available options.

@oc3
Well, life does not tend to pause while you’re in your backpack trying to fetch something with machines, that REALLY like to stomp you into bloody gore, around, does it? :stuck_out_tongue:

I would also love to see an explanation of how someone can hack a robot with binoculars. Seriously! Some kind of modification to the binoculars is needed and a quest to get that modification.

No?
It are Magical Binoculars, sir.
Like the Plundra is magical. :stuck_out_tongue:

My wishlist:

Disable fast-travel to safehouses in options menu.
Disable using Radios in options menu.

(gives a slightly more challenging feel to death)
