Why can't I see?

How am I supposed to use a pair of binoculars when all you see inside them is black?! They just randomly go black while I’m playing, which is more than annoying, it makes it impossible to play! Is this not happening to anyone else? If it’s not then wth is wrong with my game??

Seriously, this has never happened to me.
Try to uninstall the game and install again bro

Can you give some more information? Like what platform are you on, screenshots, etc? It would help.

So I apologize for not getting back for a while This is one of the only forums I’ve ever been a part of.
It was a bug, what was happening was somehow it was getting stuck midway with the whole gesture of the hand going to the eyes with the binoculars.

It actually for whatever reason took two restarts like, I played again and it happened! I’ve never ever had that happen where the next time I restarted it actually worked and hasn’t been a problem 20 games later since.

I am having a major problem with how freaking hard it is lol I’m sorry but it is so so difficult I’m about to just rage quit forever.
I’ve been playing games for 30 years. I know games are hard and I know games pretty well but, I can’t understand this game. The fact that you can’t pause and get what you need to get kills me every time.
I need way too many slots, I need a slot for different guns and… idk I don’t know maybe I’ll use my slots better I just don’t like that you can’t pause and figure out what you want to do

Kinda like real life! Wish there was a pause I could access for that!

…is because it’s a cooperative open world multiplayer game. All the time, even if you play alone.

On which difficulty settings do you play?
And how do you play?

Advice: try to play it as survival game in the first region. By that you learn to be cautious and use special tactics… Or even just to survive instead of fighting. You don’t have to fight every fight.

The more experienced you and your character become, the more brave you become.

Regarding your binoculars issue, you should really add some more info. A screenshot or a short video (uploaded to YouTube and linked here) would be best.

You need to get over the “hump”. I also was considering giving up on the game several times in the beginning (a few months ago) but since I’m a Swede I love the setting so I kept grinding.

What made the biggest difference for me was when I watched a YouTube vid from Tenebris Infinite where he shows a (dangerous but doable) route to get decent weapons early in the game. I don’t know if we are allowed to link to YouTube videos in this forum but search for “How To Get The Best Start” on his channel and it will the first hit. I have learned a lot from his channel so make sure you check out his other videos.

And as stated before stay in the south part of the map (except when doing the route I mentioned above) and try to be as sneaky as possible. Don’t engage with the machines if you don’t have to. Loot, loot, loot! Use a mule character to store ammo (for me ammo spending was the biggest problem early in the game since the guns were so weak). And read up about the skill tree.

When I managed to get the Exp KVM59 and the Exp PVG90 I really got over the hump. After that the skill points started racking up pretty quickly and I could upgrade my character. This ment I could take on harder machines which yields more and better weapons/loot.

Oh, and make sure to only carry the weapons you need. In the beginning I carried a ton of weapons and ammo for them and had my weapons wheel maxed out. Now I only use two weapons. This will give you more room for loot and also, and this is important: the loot is reflected by what you are carrying. So if you carry let’s say the KVM59 and the Magnus the loot will give you more 7.56 and .44 ammo than the other types. So try to find a couple of weapons you like and carry only them. You can always change it up later but you will get more of the ammo you need till then.

Good luck!

wow dude, I was honestly mad again because I’m playing it like every other game, trying to kill all the enemies I see and lol… It’s not working like they just keep coming and that makes me really angry. but I’m getting it now I’m starting to understand. It’s about survival it’s not about killing the robots even though it’s really really fun and makes the most beautiful colors. My favorite part of the game is how the machines look when they’re being destroyed, which sounds so evil but it’s just pretty colors lol.

thanks for taking the time. That was an extremely extremely helpful reply that literally saved me from just giving up.

I’m going to play a little fallout 4 because that does all the things I wish this game did, but Lord do I wish fallout four looked as pretty as this game does and was as realistic, Guess you can’t have both.
I mean it’s great, but has more of a comic book vibe where I feel like this is going for realism. and I’m jealous Sweden is beautiful.

I can’t even fathom fall out for without being able to pause and re-up your health, which is like something you do after every two bullet shots.

Yeah, in the beginning…later on when you start to get really good weapons, stock up on ammo and other things that go “boom” and level up your character…then the tables turn and you can get that sweet sweet feeling of revenge for all the times you were beaten to a pulp as a “noob”. :smiling_imp:

I have lived my whole life close the Swedish Archipelago and has spent much time out there for recreational boating. The game depicts it pretty well, even if nothing can compare to the real thing of course. I actually did my military service in the Swedish Marines in the 90’s and it’s really fun to see how the devs have nailed the environment…down to the bunk beds in the bunkers that even have the same pattern on the bed linnen as the ones I used to sleep in!
