If you look at the cover of Gen zero, the sniper is prone. Considering all other aspects of this cover can be deployed, as in the boom box and gas tanks. The use of ambush tactics with teamwork. Even the building has a show in the game.
With the exception of one of the most useful shooting and stealth techniques going prone.

Prone was ingame during Beta, but it was ultimately left out due to it not working correctly… Or something. I’d love to see it return, if they can polish the old feature and make it work
