You can play with a pc friend if i'm from xbox

he has a pc but he uses the game pass i would like to know if i can play if i am from xbox

You should be able to yeah.

Just invite eachother like you’d normally would

PLEASE NOTE: there have been issues with players NOT being able to invite to hosted game since the update. Hoping this is a quick fix and will work sooner than later.
